Ok so my son is going to the cinema party. The mum who took them ( small group) got the time wrong and missed their film by an hour.
So she decides to give them lunch while they kill time to wait for the next one.
Fair enough.
But then i get a text " hi hun, sorry missed time for film r w8ting 4 nxt 1. Lunch @maccyDs. ok?"

For GODS sake, if I wanted my kid to eat there ( as if) I'd take him. He knows we dont eat there or at similar places.
I am livid but what could I say?

Advice please on how to deal with this

Is there not a WagaMama's nearby?

I hope you have not been lax with your ds's chopstick tuition, and I trust that he can at least converse with the staff somewhat fluently.

Honestly, Mumsnet is so full of chavs these days.

But it's a blardy party

And let's face it, after a night in the sauce, a Bic Mac is the dog's

Perhaps that's they the mum chose it as an eaterie. It might hide her morning after cider breath

SNF - Shiney is embracing the lovely weather at the moment - in the park!! Grin

MaddonaldsMum · 06/11/2010 14:14

Well she does manage to cultivate a permanent look of singular dishevellment.

Oh god OP - what about the coke and popcorn at the flicks Shock, your DS is going to be soooooooo hyped up tonight Grin

SheikYerbouti · 06/11/2010 14:16

She is obviously a dipsomaniac.

bellavita · 06/11/2010 14:16
Shock
MmeLindt · 06/11/2010 14:18

Absolutely. I agree. We love the Slow Food movement, it is very popular in Switzerland at the moment.

Where are you OP? I find that Vapiano is an acceptable alternative to McD when we are in Germany. I think there is one in London now.

nemofish · 06/11/2010 14:18

SheikYerbouti! Haven't spotted you around for ages - but maybe I am spectactularly unobservant. But whenever I see you I shake my booty a bit, as much as you can while sat on the sofa!

Megglevache · 06/11/2010 14:19

I'd put in some really big Elizabeth Duke earrings and twat her on the steps of the fire exit by the yukka/deck feature planting, being careful not to stain my white velour cropped midi bra top in the process, but that is just me.

Don't forget to give him a 7 day pampas grass detox, that should sort him out no probs.

mamatomany · 06/11/2010 14:21

Blimey some poor woman is sat in a cinema oblivious to the damage she has done to this poor soul :( (or his mums blood pressure).
Everything in moderation, your teeth can actually rot and fall out by eating too much fruit.

Vapiano

Near Oxford Circus.

It is fast, but delicious and very healthy food.

PMSL at the slow food baby on the link, breast milk is the fastest food there is, we often witness tiny little mites turning bright red and screaming whilst the slow food is warmed up, often too much and then cooled down again before finally making it into the mouth. The baby's don't seem very impressed, quite cross actually.

backwardpossom · 06/11/2010 14:24

Arf!

TheFoosa · 06/11/2010 14:25

hmm, that frozen X-Factor pizza comment was a clue

wish I could remember who mentioned it before(really can't)

stillfeel18inside · 06/11/2010 14:27

I took both my DS to McD's when they were little when it was convenient - ie we were out shopping etc - and they also went with friends sometimes, now aged 9 and 11 neither of them ever want to go there - their tastes seem to have moved on. If you completely deny your child something that other kids find fun, there's the danger he'll want it even more when he can make his own decisions (not that far away - secondary school when loads of kids buy chips on the way home etc). There are far greater evils out there than a happy meal!

CristinaTheAstonishing · 06/11/2010 14:27

MacdonaldsMum - I sympathise with your plight and I don't understand why some people on this thread are treating it as a big joke Sad I mean, what, is children's nutrition only worth bothering with when they are babies? All those years of breastfeeding, and now this?

Megglevache · 06/11/2010 14:28

oooh what about Leon that's all helfy innit?

booyhoo · 06/11/2010 14:29

thanks OP.

OFFS, it's a burger. ONCE. In an emergency.

I don't believe how people are so flaming precious.

I smell a MacRat.....

SheikYerbouti · 06/11/2010 14:32

No, children's nutrition is not a joke.

But I would much rather my children knew that they could eat whatever they wanted in moderation and nothing was forbidden (and therefore more attractive)

CristinaTheAstonishing · 06/11/2010 14:33

Of course it's a wind-up, just play along :) Not me, by the way.
