Ok so my son is going to the cinema party. The mum who took them ( small group) got the time wrong and missed their film by an hour.
So she decides to give them lunch while they kill time to wait for the next one.
Fair enough.
But then i get a text " hi hun, sorry missed time for film r w8ting 4 nxt 1. Lunch @maccyDs. ok?"

For GODS sake, if I wanted my kid to eat there ( as if) I'd take him. He knows we dont eat there or at similar places.
I am livid but what could I say?

Advice please on how to deal with this

My god, inform social services and have her children placed under an emergency protection order - she is clearly abusive.

Vallhala · 06/11/2010 13:35

What Colditz said.

Each and every one of her posts.

And learn some gratitude in the process. "LIVID" that someone takes your child to the cinema and to lunch? Get a grip!

I don't "agree" with McD's either, on animal welfare grounds, but unless the mother was forcing my veggie DDs to eat meat I'd politely thank her and ask her how much I owed her for lunch. If she said nothing, I'd thank again with humble, gracious acceptance.

oh you all think you are funny, dont you with your furred up arteries?

Jeez OP. If this isn't a joke (which I think it is), you're a twat.

Unfortunately, there really are parents like this out there....

GypsyMoth · 06/11/2010 13:35

god.....are you for real op??

look at the positives here.....he wont be wanting coke or popcorn for the film if he's stuffed full of mcdonalds will he??

what were you expecting him to be consuming whilst watching the film by the way?

BornToFolk · 06/11/2010 13:35

"regardles of your opinions what shall i do shen she brings him home? "

Say "thanks for having him"

It would be incredibly rude to have a go at her for taking him to McDonalds.

I don't personally like McDonalds, I haven't been there in years and DS (3) has never been but I wouldn't be bothered if he had it once in a while, especially in the circumstances you describe.

TheFoosa · 06/11/2010 13:35

op, your posting style is familiar

who are you really?

Don't stand for it OP. Throw a complete wobbly when you go to collect your DS. Then report back the fallout, please.

MsKalo · 06/11/2010 13:36

Goodness why the hostility to the poor mum who started this thread? She is entitled to feel the way she does about McDonalds! The get a life comment was rude and unnecessary.
Does she know u don't agree with mcdonalds? If so she was being disrespectful taking your dc there

aristomache · 06/11/2010 13:36
Biscuit
MaddonaldsMum · 06/11/2010 13:36

So if she gave him Red Bull? Thats ok too?

OP posts:
GypsyMoth · 06/11/2010 13:36

where would you prefer she took them for lunch??

Vallhala · 06/11/2010 13:36

For what to do when she brings him home, you can:

A. Induce vomiting.

or

B. Thank the mother, offer to pay for the lunch and practice humble, gracious acceptance.

Next time you can decline the offer of free childcare and entertainment and do it yourself if you're that fussy.

cryhavoc · 06/11/2010 13:36

Grin at MmeLindt and 'infect with chav'.

OP, this other parent is clearly behaving in an unacceptable manner. Text her back telling her that your child is not to touch any food in McDonald's. If possible the whole party should wait outside until you arrive with a packed lunch for him.

A gentle word about her shoddy timekeeping is probably in order too.

You are taking the piss, yes?

MmeLindt · 06/11/2010 13:36

To be honest, it is a mistake that is easy to make.

This summer I took DS and his pals bowling but misread the opening times so we went for lunch first rather than afterwards.

I did choose an Organic Pizza Restaurant though.

And the children really enjoyed their vegetarian wholemeal pizzas.

Just because it is fast-food, doesn't have to be crap.

MaddonaldsMum · 06/11/2010 13:36

To be honest I dont know her very well - just rushes past me into school.

OP posts:
TheFoosa · 06/11/2010 13:37

we always go to Nando's

MaddonaldsMum · 06/11/2010 13:37

Thankyou Mrs Lindy for your help.
I dont know why its MY problem she is feeding him crap

OP posts:
ruddynorah · 06/11/2010 13:37

she's not letting them have pick n mix is she? who's hands have been on those foam bananas?!

tbh OP i'm surprised you've let your ds on such a dangerous trip. he's only 7.

GypsyMoth · 06/11/2010 13:37

op...if you are as LIVID as you say, then why on earth didnt you text back and tell her????
why??

scurryfunge · 06/11/2010 13:37

Red Bull is the perfect choice to go with a MacDonalds.

piscesmoon · 06/11/2010 13:37

It must be a troll! It won't hurt him as a one off-it could quite easily have been part of the party anyway. Are you seriously going to stop your DS going to parties that include fast food? One way to make sure that your DS wants to live in McDonalds is to ban it! Go once in a while and it is utterly unimportant.

TrinityTheTwattyRhino · 06/11/2010 13:38

'furred up arteries'

this is definitely a wind up

come on out yourself

Grin
MaddonaldsMum · 06/11/2010 13:38
