My OH doesn't reckon I should go our friends fireworks night party this year as I will be 29 weeks pregnant.

I think i'll be fine but he's scared it will induce birth. i think he's being stupid but i am worried that the fireworks could harm my baby.....

what do you think???

I went at around that last year. Baba didn't even move - I think she was alseep.

She's absolutely fine - and (given that I had to be induced!) it definitely didn't trigger labour.

abr1de - best point so far. shall tell OH immediately that he's a fool!

Well, that's the first time anyone's said that to me on MN!

Angelinamaguire - you could use the point about bombing and the blitz and hope your husband can't use google. Tramua can cause early labour i.e. the earthquake in Haiti. Fireworks aren't traumatic.

Oh for goodness sake.

moonchaser · 02/11/2010 18:38

You will be fine. I went to a display two days before my due date all was fine. Had DD the next day but had already been having some twinges so was nothing to do with the fireworks Grin

Unless you're planning on sending a rocket up your fanjo, there is no harm in fireworks while pregnant. You might want to send one through your DH's ears though to clear out the wool inside there.

Casserole · 02/11/2010 18:51

On the other hand, if you can devise a way of firing them out of your fanny, you will make a killing ...

Thread hijack....

woopsidaisy, that reminds me of the Take That concert I went to last year - I've never seen so many pregnant women at a concert in my life. Obviously lots of women of child bearing age, who bought their tickets some time in advance, got pregnant in the meantime, but were determined not to miss it - some of them were definitely close to popping! Blush apologies, didn't realise there were 3 pages already on the thread - woopsidaisy's meassage I refer to is on page 1 for anyone interested. Apologies again (slinks off cringing...)

I did...twice at over 7 months both times.
