we have one and DP does this too.

TrillianAstra · 01/11/2010 17:42

So you have a thingy that is for used teabags?

And DH put used teabags on it?

And this upsets you?

Throw it away or hide it then!

Unless you can think of another use for it - but if you have it out and DH uses it for its intended use you can't exactly kick him out.

(theoretically by the way - as in, 'in theory')

TrillianAstra · 01/11/2010 17:43

But why have the bloody thing Gigi?! Why? Can your bins (or recycling containers) not handle a warm teabag?

WhyHavePets · 01/11/2010 17:44

I insist it is a "spoon rest" for putting wet but not worth washing tea spoons on - tea bags go in the bin. Of course I only have teenagers to train, goodness knows how you train a DH Grin

ditavonteesed · 01/11/2010 17:45

my friend bought it me for xmas last year, I love it and I use it to rest my spoon on when I am cooking stew or something so I need the spoon out for a long time.
It is intended for tea bags, but who is to lazy to put a tea bag in either the bin or the compost.

TrillianAstra · 01/11/2010 17:45

Ooh, a spoon rest, now I would like one of those, DP puts spoons to wash after a single stir and it is not necessary at all.

Katisha · 01/11/2010 17:46

Use proper tea.

Teabags. Pah.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/11/2010 17:48

YABVU because you should compost your tea bags.

Wink
KurriKurri · 01/11/2010 17:49

Teabag holders and spoon rests = solutions to non-problems.

GiganGORE · 01/11/2010 17:49

he likes Elvis. The Dc got him an Elvis cup for his birthday and this silly tea pot shaped thing came with it.

i dislike it. i come in to find a pile of about 5 manky dried out brown tea bags on the worktop. he could just turn and put them in the bin with as much ease.

instead i have to empty the blooy thing and then wash the manky tea staines off of it.

I put it back in teh cupboard and the nugget took it back out again. Angry

ditavonteesed · 01/11/2010 17:49

have a compost bin, filled it within about 3 weeks of getting it, 3 years ago, still no compost and no room for any more stuff. think I may have done it wrong.

wonderstuff · 01/11/2010 17:50

I have one teabag left until Tesco delivers tomorrow - has been used once and is in a ramakin to be reused tomorrow

My dh does all the washing up except for cutlery which he leaves in the sink - when asked why he explained that washing knives and forks is boring!

BlingLoving · 01/11/2010 17:51

I use my used teabag holders all the time. but then the tea making part of our kitchen is a little out of the way and DH and I find it convenient. We empty it into the compost bin regularly!

ditavonteesed · 01/11/2010 17:51

pmsl. that is what a teenager should say surely.

OP posts:
ooooozathon · 01/11/2010 17:51

I'm the culprit in my house, I frequently dump teabags on the edge of sink :)

I'd like a teabag thingy, where can I get one?

WhyHavePets · 01/11/2010 18:00

Speak to dita - she may post you one Wink Grin

AgentZigzag · 01/11/2010 18:01

I've got a chrome spoon rest thingy, and if DH actually used it to put a dirty spoon in, then yes I would kick him, so YANBU in the slightest.

Dancergirl · 01/11/2010 18:21

I just can't see the point of a spoon rest. So you wash the spoon rest rather than give the worktop a quick wipe - where's the logic there..? Confused

WhyHavePets · 01/11/2010 19:02

Lots of work tops are easily marked/ruined by the liquid and gunk!

Snorbs · 01/11/2010 19:14

Who would get a kitchen worktop that's ruined by a drop of liquid? What's it made out of? Plaster of Paris? Origami? Sugar crystals?

BitOfFun · 01/11/2010 19:17

Somebody link me one of these spoon-rests? I am the woman who has everything- except this.

southeastastra · 01/11/2010 19:18

i've got one of those stainless steel caddy things for tea bags. they're great tea bags go really slimey at the bottom.

DanceInTheDark · 01/11/2010 19:19

We have one of them (about 50p from tesco) and we empty it of teabags (into the caddyWink). We rest the spoons on top of the teabags lol!

this is a spoonrest

DanceInTheDark · 01/11/2010 19:21

teabag holder thingy

VinegarTits · 01/11/2010 19:21
