to want to set fire to anybody who equates Parent and Child spaces with Disabled Spaces..

Again, on any thread on Mumsnet.

Parent and Child - clever marketing ploy by supermarkets.

Disabled Spaces - nesscary adjustment to allow the disabled a bit of extra help towards living a full life.

That is all.

yes, setting fire to people is an entirely proportionate response Smile

JamieLeeCurtis · 31/10/2010 18:18

I do not disagree. Immolation may be a tad harsh though

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 31/10/2010 18:18

YABU to want to set fire to anybody.

Except fake Guidos.

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 31/10/2010 18:18

Thank you, I think so.

No I disagree. Parent and child is necessary to safely park your trolley with a child in it rather than be forced to leave it where a car can swing round and hit it. I don't think that parent and child spaces need to be near the door though, just want a safe space to park the kids.

buttonmoon78 · 31/10/2010 18:19

I do not disagree that P&T spaces are not in the slightest on a par with disabled spaces.

Setting fire to people might be a tad OTT tho Grin

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 31/10/2010 18:20

Aren't there very, very few people who compare the two? And wouldn't education be better.

I know, I know, clear off with your pacifistic tendencies, this thread is tongue in cheek.

And before you say I shouldn't leave kids in trolley, it is impossible not to when unloading 2 or more unless you are an octopus.

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 31/10/2010 18:21

Oh well Stinky, at least I can toast the buns. Grin

TattyDevine · 31/10/2010 18:22

No way. Disabled people are all in wheelchairs, so they dont even have to walk. Whereas us parents are knackered from doing the most important job in the world.

YABU

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 31/10/2010 18:24

Grin @ Tatty.

I do think though that for some people they are really quite important, to quote from the other thread where I said:

'I had SPD during pg and was on crutches for months. I once cried because I couldn't park in a P&T space as opening the door fully to get out was essential. Also, I couldn't have made it across the whole car park if they'd relocated the spaces.

I had a hormonal strop little whinge at the parking attendant who subsequently ushered me to a disabled space whenever P&T was full.

I've now found out that I may be eligible for a blue badge whilst pg this time Smile'

ShowOfBloodyStumps · 31/10/2010 18:26

Babies do melt though. I read it in the mail. Only if you're an immigrant or single mother though.

buttonmoon78 · 31/10/2010 18:26

Oops hormonal strop little whinge

jaffacake2 · 31/10/2010 18:31

I was relly upset a few years ago at a supermarket. I parked in the parent and child space cos the disabled were all full. Got an absolute mouthful from a mother with a toddler that I shouldnt park there.
I had my brother who was in a wheelchair from brain cancer and needed the space to get him out. Couldnt have managed in normal space.

Didnt happen again,he died the following month. Just felt she was selfish and that her situation was easier than mine. She would have known he was so ill cos bald from chemo. Just wanted to get some wine n chocs he fancied looking at.

buttonmoon78 · 31/10/2010 18:33

Oh, Jaffa, that's awful Sad. Some people will always have something to grump about.

emptyshell · 31/10/2010 18:33

Well... technically they're both black and tarmaccy...

I'll get me coat.

StuckinTheMiddlewithYou · 31/10/2010 18:36

Jaffa that's terrible. You are your brother should not have had to go though that at such a difficult time.

Some people are so wrapped up in their own egotisticaly worlds that they have no brain cells left to consider those less fortunate.
