Even though he can't say 'trick or treat'? Not sure whether to go or wait until next year and just let him answer the door instead. So please can you all tell me what to do?!

I would presume that if you walk through the town with the choir then you are collecting for charity. I have never had a trick or treater who was doing anything but collect for themselves! I might have more sympathy with it if it was for a good cause, rather than lots of sweets which they neither want nor need! If you knock on a stranger's doors dressed up and expecting something for yourself then I call it begging.
Why not go around to houses handing out sweets?

Nope, Whit walk wasn't for charity - was for ourselves - my Mum remembers doing it when she was young too Grin.
Have never seen 'gangs of youths rampaging', and I did not live anywhere posh I promise you. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I don't think Halloween is the problem.

I can't see why DCs can't use Hallowe'en to dress up and collect for charity-it would be a much better idea.
