even though oh has not had the all clear from his vasectomy operation

WhoAteAgentZigzagsBrain · 28/10/2010 23:57

Unless there's a really good reason to come off it, why would you take the risk?

ForMashGetSmash · 29/10/2010 00:00

I hate the pill...and refuse it...so if you are using that then YANBU and have my blessings! Don't know about your OH's though!

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 29/10/2010 00:04

How long ago did he have the operation? But yes, YWBU if you come off contraception without the all-clear. Why would you want to take such a risk now? Did you not agree with the vasectomy? Would you secretly like another baby?

AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:05

i have the implonon "rod" and since december 09 have had 2 weeks off having a period

AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:05

TheFallenMadonna · 29/10/2010 00:06

Why?

Kitta · 29/10/2010 00:06

YABU, you are assuming that the op has been successful and they aren?t always.
And it isn?t always surgical error, there are occasions where for what ever reason the vas deferens rejoin, and it only takes one tiny emmy miney sperm???.searching its way through , a bit like a Chilean Miner, only even more determined

Joolyjoolyjoo · 29/10/2010 00:07

I wouldn't! I know a couple of people who have been caught out on this one, and it can lead to major resentment and upset

WhoAteAgentZigzagsBrain · 29/10/2010 00:08

Have you talked about it with your DH?

AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:11

i just want this bleeding to stop, i really hate it.

Get rid of the implant, but use condoms. :)

WhoAteAgentZigzagsBrain · 29/10/2010 00:15

Do the last two questions OldLadyKnowsBest asked have a bearing on anything?

It's uncomfortable, but I'd rather have a period for a month than be pregnant for 9 months and looking after another child for 28 years Grin when I didn't really want another.

mrsfollowill · 29/10/2010 00:17

It took six months for my DH to get the 'all clear' (had to test x 2 3 months apart.) My sis told me it took 9 months for her DH. You don't want any more DC so why risk it for the sake of a few weeks. I'm thinking the same as Old Lady - are you hoping for a 'happy accident'? Confused

TheFallenMadonna · 29/10/2010 00:18

Yes - stop this contraception and use another. Condoms must be the way to go.

sockapoodle · 29/10/2010 00:19

Hormonal contraception can be a bitch. Whats wrong with condoms?

AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:19

I hope i dont offend anyone, but if i got a positive pregnancy test, i wouuld not continue with the pregnancy.

i just want he bleeding to stop...which kind of answers my own question

OP posts:
AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:20

is there any latex free condoms ????

OP posts:
TheFallenMadonna · 29/10/2010 00:21

You can get latex free condoms, yes.

WriterofDreams · 29/10/2010 00:22

Go off that implant, you must be fit to pull your hair out at this stage, but do use condoms. Don't risk it.

TheFallenMadonna · 29/10/2010 00:23

Here - loving the name blushing buyer!

AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:25

to prevent pregnany, i will use a female condom on top of a male one.

it never crossed my mind to use a condom as i have a latex allergy and i have only had 1 sexual partner who i am still with

OP posts:
AuntiePickleBottom · 29/10/2010 00:27

TheFallenMadonna ordered
