In previous years we have either been out/not answered the door/not had any, so I have no idea what they will be expecting!

So do I need to go and buy sweets/chocolate etc or are we supposed to give them cash these days (which is what my mum thinks is the case!)

festering pus soup

hot dogs with real fingers

goblin spew cakes

jelly with jelly skulls and eyeballs in it

toffee apples

a huge cauldron with monkey nuts and haribo sweets for rummage.

I like Halloween. [hgrin]

Can I come round yours sugarlake? That sounds amazing!!

SpookyNoise · 30/10/2010 16:45

Sounds like gruesome fun at your house, sugarlake!
We've got chupa chups lollies that I got because kids all like them and they were cheap (16 for 89p) but then DH went and bought a few big packs of fun size choccy bars. He gets all excited and far too generous!!!

pintyblud · 30/10/2010 16:53

A smile, a few costume compliments, some sweets.

piscesmoon · 30/10/2010 16:57

Homemade sweets or biscuits.

We are in Scotland as well and it's bigger up here than down South.

I will make 70 sandwich bags up with a packet of crisps, mini chocolate bar, packet of Haribo, some eyeball sweets. Bags are easier DH then just gives out a bag per child whilst I am out with the biggest 3 collecting probably the same sweets back from the neighbours, it's like a sweet exchange lol.

We don't go to anyone's house who does not have any decorations outside. I have just finished our indoor ones, DH shaking his head.

Forgot to add some people still give out monkey nuts (peanuts) and an apple. That's what we got when I was young, you were so excited if you got a sweet!

sugarlake · 30/10/2010 17:25

[hgrin]

I forgot to add treacle pancakes. You smear pancakes with treacle and dangle them from the roof on string- then eat them with your hands behind your back.

You are supposed to get clean by ducking for apples.

Well I'm here, all dressed up in my witches costume, complete with hat.

I have carved pumpkins in my garden, all lit and looking lovely

I have a big bowl of celebrations/hero's, vampire teeth and fake spiders.

My husband thinks I'm daft but I'm just a big kid myself

Need to grab some bits tomorrow. First time in this house. I really hope we get trick or treaters.
