Gah I know, I know facebook is evil, I only just reregistered and already I want to break things.

To all the unselfish mums out there who traded
in dark eye liner for dark circles, salon cuts for pony tails, long
soaks in tub for quick showers, late nights for early mornings,
designer bags for nappy bags and wouldn't change a thing, let's see
how many mums will repost this, mums... who don't care what they gave up, instead
... love what they got in return, repost this if your a mum and you
love your children xxx

The one "cause" related status update I actually put on my FB (without the copy and paste it if you care line) was to do with Miscarriage Awareness Day/Month (bet most of ya were unaware huh huh huh? ...it's October by the way).

It was written by me, because I wanted to say something and, when surrounded by a barrage of "kids are my world" "clap for fabby mummys" updates - it mattered to me that the silent ones were listened to. It's the only cause related one I've ever put up, and it was more me coming "out" and admitting this was going on for us and trying to do a bit to break down that wall of silence.

There are days those smuggy self-sacrificing mum ones just make me think "gawd pathetic quit vaunting your martyrdom in front of the e-cheerleading squad" and days when they can make me sob. I actually asked one friend to cool it a bit with them (she would paste ANYTHING) for a while when things were very raw, this was my best friend from school - she refused, saying she was special because she was a mum and she would continue to let the world know. The world, apparently values FB cut and pastes that take 2 seconds to do.

One of my good friends has an ongoing weekly "how many getty ups till half term" status update on a Monday morning which is always amusing.

emptyshell, my baby loss awareness one was: oct 11-15th is national chocolate week, you may have seen it on the news. on programmes like This Morning. after all, everyone loves chocolate. It's also baby loss awareness week. If I had the choice between a giant bar of whole nut and one of my babies here with me, I know what I would choose. So why did the media choose to cover chocolate instead?

i was v cross.

I've seen this one a lot. Love your response!

Ghoulysses · 25/10/2010 14:16

Unfortunately most women won't repost this. I'm strong willed, independent, a bit outspoken (okay a lot) and I tell it like it is. I make mistakes, I am sometimes out of control & at times hard to handle (okay most ......times). But if you can't handle me at my worst then you sure as heck don't deserve me at MY BEST. If you're a handful, repost...I dare you! I'll be looking for the ladies who repost

Does this fall under the mantle of 'wanky' because it seriously makes my teeth hurt.

I am fighting off the urge to comment ' You sound like a complete nightmare and I wouldn't touch you with your own kid.'

A person has 1000 wishes. A cancer patient only has one: to get better. I know
that 97% will care enough to post this as their status, but I know that my friends
will be one of the 3% and put this as their status, at least for an hour,
in honor of those who died because of cancer or are still fighting! x x x

Todays wankathon, reposted by 5 people, argh!

I saw this one. So irritating.

wayoftheworld · 26/10/2010 12:12

..too selfish to pass it on..Grin..

mippy · 26/10/2010 12:32

I know people who have died or fought cancer, and I still want to say 'fuck off'. At the end of his life, my dad wanted cigarettes as much as getting better.

loubielou31 · 26/10/2010 12:44

I have also nicked the dragons one. Thank you for really making me laugh. Grin

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 26/10/2010 12:59

I've got LOADS more than a 1000 wishes.

Well, I suppose it depends who granular they are really. Altogether, insufficient data.

nomedoit · 26/10/2010 15:36

I get one every day from my MIL. Here is today's...

My daughter has made me laugh, wiped my tears, hugged me tight, watched me succeed, seen me fall, cheered me on, kept me going strong, and DROVE ME CRAZY at times...Daughters are a promise from God that you will have a friend forever! Put this on your status if you love your Daughter.

And she doesn't even get on with her daughter
