Gah I know, I know facebook is evil, I only just reregistered and already I want to break things.

To all the unselfish mums out there who traded
in dark eye liner for dark circles, salon cuts for pony tails, long
soaks in tub for quick showers, late nights for early mornings,
designer bags for nappy bags and wouldn't change a thing, let's see
how many mums will repost this, mums... who don't care what they gave up, instead
... love what they got in return, repost this if your a mum and you
love your children xxx

pigletmania · 22/10/2010 18:43

blughhgh Envy CWWM, people who put these stutus up are so insenstive, there could be those friends who can't have children or who don't want them.

Ewe · 22/10/2010 18:43

That's a load of bollocks!

I wear even more eyeliner now than I used to, it detracts attention from the bags Grin I have NEVER worn my hair in a ponytail and don't intend to and go to the salon every six weeks to have my hair done (that is what DaddyEwe is there for!).

What fucking idiots.

peasantgoneroundthebend4 · 22/10/2010 18:47

2 people on my fb have understood the lady garden comment eyes you all up suspicially

peasantgoneroundthebend4 · 22/10/2010 18:48

Hmm ok here's another one to post

post this if you know someone who lives with a cock lodger or Is married to one

AliGrylls · 22/10/2010 18:49

Depends what you traded in. If you don't miss it, it's not worth having.

DialMforMother · 22/10/2010 19:39

CWWM's one sounds like the writer frankly couldn't be arsed trying after the first line. 'i have comforted a baby on my chest'? Ooooh it's right poetic that is. 'pooped, piled and peed on'? If you're going to write sanctonious smug shite at least PUT THE EFFORT IN!

saffy85 · 22/10/2010 19:48

YANBU. I never even read that shit anymore. Yes I gave up stuff to be a mummy but so bloody what? I still gwt my long bubble baths and wear tonnes of make up, does that make me half crap, half devoted mum? Hmm

The only people who post that shite are martyrs and I have no time for "well MY life is much harder than YOUR life!" type people. It's boring.

saffy85 · 22/10/2010 19:52

I think I just threw up in my mouth a bit at CWWM's. WTF is the matter with people?

SherbetDibDab · 22/10/2010 19:57

Boak. I hate the idea that your Mum-worthiness is measured by how much you sacrifice.

I also hate . Boak and yawn.

I love facebook though. Maybe you should ditch some friends.

fastedwina · 22/10/2010 20:05

my friend sent me this:

Hello, my name is Billy and I suffer from guilt for not forwarding 50 billion fucking chain letters sent to me by people who actually believe, if you send them on, a poor six-year-old girl in Scotland with a breast on her forehead will be able to raise enough money to have it removed before her redneck parents sell her to a travelling freak show.

And, do you honestly believe that Bill Gates is going to give $1000 to you, and everyone to whom you send 'his' email?

How stupid are we?

Ooooh, looky here! If I scroll down this page and make a wish, I'll get laid by a model I just happen to run into the next day!

What a bunch of bullshit.

Maybe the evil chain letter leprechauns will come into my house and curse me in my sleep for not continuing a chain letter that was started by St Peter in 5AD and brought to this country by midget pilgrim stowaways on the Endeavour.

Fuck 'em!!

If you're going to forward something, at least send me something mildly amusing.

I've seen all the 'send this to 10 of your closest friends, and this poor, wretched excuse for a human being will somehow receive a nickel from some omniscient being' forwards about 90 times. I don't fucking care.

Show a little intelligence and think about what you're actually contributing to by sending out these forwards. Chances are, it's our own unpopularity.

The point being?

If you get some chain letter that's threatening to leave you shagless or luckless for the rest of your life, delete it.

If it's funny, send it on.

Don't piss people off by making them feel guilty about a leper in Botswana with no teeth who has been tied to the arse of a dead elephant for 27 years and whose only salvation is the 5 cents per letter he'll receive if you forward this email.

Now forward this to everyone you know. Otherwise, tomorrow morning your underwear will turn carnivorous and will consume your genitals.

Have a nice day.

naghoul · 22/10/2010 20:06

I block all the 'mummy' people. I'm friends with adults not their children. This is up there with children as your profile picture and endless updates on your child's eating habits and bowel movements. All these status cut and pastes get right on my tits. If you've nothing to say, don't cut and paste some vacuous bullshit just to fill the space!

SeaTrek · 22/10/2010 20:07

Just ignore all the crap posts. If she keeps doing it then hide her from your newsfeed. I have to 'hold my fingers' quite a bit on facebook when I see those kind of childish posts but, hey, I don't have to keep reading them.

Sariah · 22/10/2010 20:23

i never get annoyed by other peoples status updates. i get more annoyed by posts by people that get annoyed by them.

sheepgowooohooo · 22/10/2010 20:44

I've just nicked that one too nikki

SuperLapin · 23/10/2010 10:43

One of my Facebook friends posted the children with special needs are not different etc the other day. This was from the woman who I watched being so mean to my Aspie son when she didnt know I was watching her. He'd had a meltdown at her house and was really trying hard to calm himself down and she was such a cow to him, I walked out of her house and vowed to have nothing to do with her again. When I read that on her status I was livid all day just set me off on one long rant.

I'm a big fan of Facebook generally but that one really got my goat.

megapixels · 23/10/2010 11:07

Well I don't wear dark eye liner or have a salon cut or long soaks in the tub or late nights but I am still quite selfish Grin.

Yeah pretty wanky status, why not just post

"EVERYONE LOOK AT MEEEEEEEE, I'M A WONDERFUL MOTHER" and be done with it, that's what they're trying to say after all.

BerryLellooooooooooow · 23/10/2010 11:19

I've been getting a lot of the warnings about baby-car-seats-being-left-out-in-the-road-so-gangs-can-target-you type stuff. Now that's possibly plausible if you live in NY etc, but I'm in Cornwall ffs.

I too still have salon cuts, baths and match my dark eyeliner to my dark circles...

pickledbabe · 23/10/2010 11:35

I posted the bit about an explosion in an abbatoir and one of my school friends has replied "are you going to the reunion?"

I can only assume she means a school reunion, for which you'd have to pay me in MILLIONS of pounds to attend. which means that I have got a great response to a c&p'd status! [hgrin] [hgrin]

I might do some more of those....

pigletmania · 23/10/2010 11:39

Oh dear have my dd as my profile picture, but then again I am very unphotogenic, there isent a nice picture of me really, on the other hand my dd is very photogenic. Would rather not scare potential friends away Grin

ItWasADarkAndStormyNight · 23/10/2010 11:44

I have ds as my profile pic too, I look like the walking dead and he doesn't.

Tortington · 23/10/2010 11:48

i think i might put a new status update

"re-post this if you want to kick a puppy"

lissieloucifer · 23/10/2010 11:49

god, i loathe these updates. i have a "friend who posts them all and it makes my teeth itch and my eyeballs combust.

pigletmania · 23/10/2010 11:51

ROTFL lissieloucifer me too, its just so cringeworthy, like having some senblance of your past life without children warrents you being a bad mummy.

lissieloucifer · 23/10/2010 11:56

remember people, you are only a good parent if you have no life and are covered in either sick or shit. some people martyr themselves to motherhood. my status will read:

I am a mum but I am also educated, intelligent, funny, feisty and well dressed. I care about politics and world events as well as my son and I am already planning what to do with his bedroom when he moves out. repost this if you are a mum and barely adequate!

lissieloucifer · 23/10/2010 12:03

having said that, i have had a few people C&P my status into theirs in the past, most notably a rant about choclate week being covered over baby loss awareness week on tv and asking bnp voters to remove themselves from my friends list...
