Warburtons seeded batch bread.

On BBc news yesterday the roving reporter was out and about in a working mans house talking about the cuts and the people where complaining about losing money but in the background on the breakfast counter was a warburtons seeded loaf at about £1.70
Now if I had to tighten my belt I would be buying cheaper bread

People must realise that we have to live within our means and if that involves buying economy bread then so be it
If your income is reduced then so must your expenditure

problem solved
spend less buy cheaper

I don't know what the point is GetOrf - but my DS's love it and it's bloody lush when you get it still hot from the bakery (even better when someone you know is on shift and gets you the absolute freshest ones from the back Wink)

Anniegetyourgun · 21/10/2010 11:26

"I would like to have a nice botle of wine every now and again but I have to make do with White star cider (very cheap and gets the job done)"

I would like to have a nice bottle of wine every now and again too, but I don't buy it or cider. Even cheaper, and has the added benefit of not getting me drunk. You should try it some time, especially before posting.

(Actually this is misleading; I do like a drop of Baileys occasionally, so I buy a bottle round about every 3 months, provided it's on offer at the time. I went a bit ape last Christmas when they had three different varieties on a very good offer, and bought six bottles. It was all gone by July. Blush )

GoreRenewed · 21/10/2010 11:28

It would be OK if it was allowed to get stale and dry. And be washed down with a glass of water.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 21/10/2010 11:35

This is a very clever wind up. White star cider instead of wine. ROFL. Do you mean White diamond? I like cocaine but in these times of cut backs now find glue the most cost effective recreational drug of choice.

And pmsl at Pag too.

AllOverIt · 21/10/2010 11:36

ROFL this thread is hilarious! {hgrin]

slug · 21/10/2010 11:37

Ahh but Dwaine, it's the seeds that make the difference. Rammed packed full of:
Copper
manganese
Zinc
Iron
Vitimin B1
Calcium

Which any fule know are preventatives against:
Rhematoive Arthritis
Vascular and Respiratory problems
Colon Cancer
Osteporosis
Migraine
PMS
High Cholesterol
Etc, etc, etc

A bit of wholemeal might help against the constipation but it's the seeds that make the difference, the seeds.

20p extra well spent.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 21/10/2010 11:37

Oh it is diamond white isn't it. And apparently there is a white star cider. OP, are you on it at the mo? Grin

AllOverIt · 21/10/2010 11:37

Gah! [hgrin]

PatTheHammerHouseofHorror · 21/10/2010 11:40

This thread is hilarious.

we buy kingsmill 'oats and more'.

Is this acceptable or do you have to be middle-class?

DwainRooney · 21/10/2010 11:43

I can see you are all middle class mums who have enough money to spend on seeded bread

If that is your choice and you have enough money then so be it but dont come on here complaining about cutbacks and less money to go round
By the way I do eat Warburtons seeded bread. One big difference is I am not on national tv complaining about the cutbacks

JinnyS · 21/10/2010 11:44

Moral of the story?

Make your own bread then nobody can get judgey about the wrapper

slug · 21/10/2010 11:45
FindingMymOOOOOOOOjo · 21/10/2010 11:45

cause the hookers are more discrete over there!

and if you're going to sign to another club we'd all like you to move abroad thanks - France would do too, USA even better.

POFAKKEDDthechair · 21/10/2010 11:45

Dwain shouldn't you be at school work?

BetsyBoop · 21/10/2010 11:46

bread? Pah let them eat cake Grin

Whatever next? I've see poor people buying pre cut fruit too...what's the world coming to...

DwainRooney · 21/10/2010 11:46

PatTheHammerHouseofHorror
This thread is not meant to be funny
I see nothing funny in people being thrown out of house and home because they cannot budget properly and live within their means
and if this means buying cheaper bread then that is what they must do

OP posts:
ZombiePandaEatsEis · 21/10/2010 11:46

i remember reading somewhere that brown bread and white bread are essentially the same... or is that eggs? i forget...the additives in cheap white bread must have addled my brains...

to be entirely honest, you seem to be an expert in the field of bread pricing and the scale of deserving members of society (well to do obv) Vs the less deserving poor...maybe you should run for the local MP office and enforce the obvious lack of law to keep the poor in the gutter (health wise at the very least)while the more deserving members of society get to eat the good bread and spend their money on frivolous things like healthy food...great plan, that[hhmm]

pretty much all of the bread sold in supermarkets here is crap, but in my opinion Vogels Sunflower Seed bread is the king of all supermarket bread. Bummer it usually sells out before I get to the shop.

DwainRooney · 21/10/2010 11:50

homeboys
well said that MNer
I like the cut of your jib

POFAKKEDDthechair · 21/10/2010 11:50

Dwain do you have a job? If so they might not take kindly to you slacking here. If not....

PatTheHammerHouseofHorror · 21/10/2010 11:51

Dwain- that is clearly not funny, and nobody is saying it is. What people are finding funny is your huge simplification of a very real situaton for many people on here into what sort of bread they buy.

People have pointed out the reasons why he might have it in the house which you have suitably ignored.

What is funny is other people's comments. Note I said 'this thread' and not 'the OP' is hilarious.

You know a sense of humour is free of charge[hwink]

POFAKKEDDthechair · 21/10/2010 11:51

Ah you're a SAHD. Nothing to do? that explains the shit stirring.

MaimAndKilloki · 21/10/2010 11:51

I would like to publicly apologise for buying Warburton's Seeded Batch bread and real butter whilst on JSA. And hope that my decision to do so can be balanced by the fact I didn't buy anything else at the time.
