Ok, I admit it, it's not really an AIBU because I won't stop liking them if when you all come on and say YABU.

But the snobbery thread got me thinking. What exactly is it about tattoos in general that people don't like?

I don't like all tattoos and I think they can look very "chavesque", but some of them I think can look good.

I was looking for an example, but I could only find this

I do like tattoos, but one thing confuses me. Why do people get tattoos in languages they cannot speak?

If it is the language of their native country, or a language they speak then fair enough, but I don't understand why English speakers who have never visited China (for example), don't know any Chinese people, don't speak Chinese go and get a tattoo in Chinese Confused

None of my business, of course, but just something I've always wondered about.

I don't think YABU to like tattoos. It is entirely up to you what you do or think about them.

I don't like them at all and have never seen one I like on anyone.

don't like them at all sorry.my mother got one for her 65th birthday which is actually quite nice -a small butterfly on her ankle - but they're not for me.

Love tattoos, as long as they are well done and not naff/faddish. They should mean something, not just be flash or dictated by fashion.

Planning my next tattoo, all mine so far have been smallish, but I want a sleeve done next.
