Watching this weeks Eddie Stobart programme, apart from the suspense will it, won't it. I will probably get flamed but the Eddie Stobart spotters Debbie and Robert do need to get a life. What with wanting their van cab wrapped in the Stobart livery, wanting and Eddie Stobart duvet cover but shock horror could not because it only comes in single sizes (wonder why), have an Eddie Stobart umbrella, mug and towel Grin. Takes spotting to a whole new level. Oh dear comes to mind!

I was walking past Luton areport after being on holiday and walked past this building, through the glass I saw a bunch of people with binoculous which is what i presume were plane spotters. I love planes but dont think that i could be one though.

Nobbie and Stobbie game, brilliant!

DH was hoping one of his mates would get dd a lorry with her name on - I don't know why. Pointed out still not got so he's off to do it himself.

Actually the reeeeaaaly sad bloke was the editor or trucks weekly/monthly. Bonkers, expect dh closetly buys it though along with a few other saddo mags none of which are proper porn but refer to lorries, engines, cars.....................perhaps he will become a pigeon fancier next.

thehairybabysmum · 15/10/2010 23:02

Debbie...a man though me and DH were chuckling, especially at the commentary guys....'debbie has a secret past'!!!

southeastastralbeing · 15/10/2010 23:04

did anyone see the harry hill send up? very funny

i really find it quite sad that this is passed for entertainment these days - mind boggles

zonkin · 15/10/2010 23:23

DH got v excited when he saw the Norbert Dentressangle headquarters - at least a hundred, if not more trucks!

We do long distance driving a lot both here and in France and to be honest the truck spotting brightens up a long dull drive.

So Eddie Stobart, Willi Betz, Norbert Dentressangle, Waberers optimum Solutions and Turners of Soham all get a thumbs up from me.

Disclaimer: we only get enthusiastic about trucks on those long distance drives!

MamzelleDupont · 15/10/2010 23:42

the bill gates of transport

WhoAteAgentZigzagsBrain · 16/10/2010 00:07

What about the roundabout enthusiast?

Apparently there's enough of them to form a group.

PortoFangO · 16/10/2010 00:07

I spent several years working in the Port of Dover. Lorry drivers are not stuff of fantasy! Some are attractive, most are not. Some are lovely and friendly, and some will take every opportunity to try and assault grope a woman working alone.

Some will give you fresh fruit, chocolates, levis and copies of Hello magazine hot of the press. Most smell of garlic and proposition you for a BJ if you so much as smile when you hand their documentation over.....

southeastastralbeing · 16/10/2010 00:13

i really like the misty roundabout picture, it's so beautiful Grin

sounds like an interesting and varied jon porto, i'd enjoy that, my job is right boring

southeastastralbeing · 16/10/2010 00:14

'job' though jon porto sounds like an exotic lorry driver

WhoAteAgentZigzagsBrain · 16/10/2010 00:16

Thingumy · 16/10/2010 00:18

PortoFangO · 16/10/2010 00:22

southeastastralbeing · 16/10/2010 00:25

i keep thinking of james hunt for some reason does anyone remember him?

PortoFangO · 16/10/2010 00:26

I had LOTS of fun in that job, I must say. But not with lorry drivers. Twas where I first met DH. He wasn't a lorry driver either....

southeastastralbeing · 16/10/2010 00:34

how did you meet him?

PortoFangO · 16/10/2010 09:22

He came into my office one night with some paperwork and said "If you lose some weight of your arse, I'll take you out" Grin

BeenBeta · 16/10/2010 09:30

I am given to undestand that the pinnacle of Stobart spotting is if you are going along the motorway and can pass a Stobart lorry whilst going under a flyover and another Stobart lorry simultaneously passes over the top of you.
