Neurotic parents in the school playground

Just wondering if all parents in the school playground (apart from me ha!) are neurotic, angry, self centered, evil, selfish, blinkered, crazy, paranoid loons!
I only ask because they all seem to migrate towards me. They may think I am interested or easy prey because I look into the distance when they are talking but really I am thinking what shall we have for tea tonight red or white! This has followed me round from pre school to school and it is different people as soon as I edge slowly away from one, another one snares me!
I really can't be arsed is it just bad luck or is it the norm? Usually it's the parents that demand special attention for their kids, because they are anxious, finding mixing with other kids hard etc, then they scream at them to be quiet and don't let them have tea at their friends houses or have to invite themselves too, won't let them go to parties,I even know a mother who will not let her son wear shorts in case he falls over wtf!!! I feel like shouting you silly fuck you are ruining your child!!!
Sorry for rant but would like to know I'm not the only one!

First of all it was tongue in cheek rant stemed (admitedly from experience). I was referring to ONE at preschool and a gaggle at school. What happened to common sense and nurturing your child and not YOUR anxietys and neurosis, be happy and grateful for your lot and stop blaming everyone else for your shortfalls! I am a calm headed parent and my post was frustration from 4 years now of listening to parents bitch about their kids and then bitch about their teachers let kids be kids thats what I say, they need to socialise, and fall over and catch bugs. The reason I am so niggled at the moment is because a parent tried to literally get me in a scrap at school! Over my 5 year old being pushed by a 4 year old I had left it in the hands of the teacher and was allowing time for the mother of said child to give him a good telling off, the (crew) member wanted me to just about have fisticuffs with said mother before she had chance to resolve the issue,is this right??? She said I was terrible for not confronting mother straight away? Everytime I go to school the main woman is angry and I mean angry! I say Morning, she goes into rant about anything, bitches about people in playground who are within earshot. God know I'm ranting but its all coming out now, may turn into her!
I know wasn't a question originally but come on tampon, dog poo??????

Starlight - that short's thing makes sense!

louise999 · 02/10/2010 22:29

And yes he is not allowed shorts, and he is nearly 8 and still in pull ups because she doesn't want wet sheets, and.... she has to sit in the other room when he is invited for tea to his friends house and... his friend has a disabled uncle so she does not allow him to visit in case he abuses him???!!
I am a northerner so do address everything as you and we don't take personally!

MrsYamada · 02/10/2010 22:31

Incase the 8yr old abuses the uncle or the uncle abuses the 8yr old? Not that either makes any sense!

well, having had hideously scraped and bleeding knees 4 days in a row from ds1 when i put him in shorts i can kind of understand that! lol

pull-ups... well at 8 not all kids are dry at night. i would use pull-ups rather than having to change sheets every morning.

the staying for playdates and uncle/abuse thing is weird tho... but maybe she has reasons for fearing these situations

maybe you should jus tnot talk to her

louise999 · 02/10/2010 22:39

Deff the uncle in fact she even told her! How awful!

OP posts:
MrsYamada · 02/10/2010 22:41

Shock So she thinks that because the uncle is disabled he will abuse her ds?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/10/2010 22:49

louise, you wrote this dear:

DollyTwat · 02/10/2010 22:51

Louise999 I may be the mum with the shorts thing.

My son comes home every day with an injury of some kind, so I always send him in trousers to save his knees! I wish he could have worn a crash helmet as he bumnps his head ALL the time!

He is one of those boys who throws himself into everything, which is great, but mine is damage limitation not over protectiveness.

Yes she does, but now let it all off my chest feel awful, hate bitching believe it or not. I just hate it when she makes out I am not interested in my kids because I am not over the top and angry as her. I come from a big family , have a lot of support and have 3 kids myself, where she has been on her own from day one with just her and her son that must be bloody hard!Wish she would think before she says things! feel like terrible person now!

OP posts:
MrsYamada · 02/10/2010 22:56

Don't feel awful, nothing wrong with a vent. She's probably winging it with no-one to bounce her whacky ideas off.

louise999 · 02/10/2010 22:56

Did I place the ha in the wrong place choclate fluffy bunny?

OP posts:
belledechocolatefluffybunny · 02/10/2010 22:58

No, it's the 'all' parents. Not all parents are bonkers, there's alot of pretty sane ones on here.
