Go for it!

Must admit I think it's gross, but if he likes it, why not? Then pass it on when he goes off it.

MoralDefective · 01/10/2010 21:51

My friend always regretted not buying her DS2(about 6 years old) a Barbie doll one christmas that he had asked for,he was really dissappointed that Father Christmas hadn't brought itSad.........i think the quilt cover is hideous but if he likes it then i'd get it for him.

huddspur · 01/10/2010 21:55

I wouldn't buy it as if his friends see it when they come round then he will be a laughing stock at school.

MistsAndMellow · 01/10/2010 21:59

He's only three, it'll be fine.

My DS would adore that! He's getting some pink pyjamas for Christmas Smile

Tippychoocks · 01/10/2010 22:00

I still have my Thelwell ones Grin

I don't like character ones if that's the question but I do approve of buying him whatever he and you like, regardless of pink or ponies or sparkles. So YANBU, ebay away Grin

DirtyMartini · 01/10/2010 22:16

Aw, Moral. The poor wee love :(

There should be no overruling of things tiny children love purely on grounds of naffness or departure from boy/girl roles. They are tiny. It isn't fair. (Obv not saying you buy them everything they want, but if they really, really love something especially hard and you can afford it ... life's too short to get sniffy about it.)

If you can't love airbrushed pastel fantasy ponies when they're three, when can you?

DirtyMartini · 01/10/2010 22:16

I mean, when you're three

mummy2theboys · 01/10/2010 22:18

I think it is lovely. My DS loves angelina ballerina and I dont bat an eyelid.

Alikersh · 01/10/2010 22:34

Buy it - no harm done to anyone!!

Hedgeblunder · 01/10/2010 22:37

Awww yes buy it!

colditz · 01/10/2010 22:37

When my ds1 was three, he begged me for some red sequined plimsols that he saw in a shop.

I didn't buy them and I SHOULD have done. I've regretted that more that you could imagine.

colditz · 01/10/2010 22:38

They aren't little for long. if you can afford the duvet cover, get him the duvet cover.

SalaDo · 01/10/2010 22:40

Buy it if he likes it :) My dd has one covered in dinosaurs she loves!

SmellsLikeTeenSweat · 01/10/2010 22:45

Just want to add my experience - my DS loved girly things when he was that age, grew up loving babies and animals and is a sensitive lad. He is now nearly 17 and most definitely heterosexual!

Who says MLP is just for girls anyway?

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/10/2010 00:12

Ok I bought it for him only difference is on another parenting forum it was for sale for £7 so I bought it cos my boy will love it....
Now if anyone has a girls world (think that what they are called) head and shoulders doll for sale let me know!!!

OP posts:
Skyrg · 02/10/2010 00:19

I can see why, he has incredible hair!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 02/10/2010 00:25

DS had this for Christmas when he was three. He still plays with it, too, although not as much and sometimes there are dragons in the stables rather than horses...

MistsAndMellow · 02/10/2010 00:28

He isn't the only Mumsnet DS who wants a disembodied styling head for Christmas TLE.

Are you going to get him one?

Agreed he has beautiful hair Smile

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/10/2010 00:39

Pro DS2 has a part of that!!! am
trying to find the whole thing for him for xmas!!!

HE has gorgeous hair and he knows mummy will spend hours playing with it lol.

Just as he does with mine.

I am so much more relaxed with him than i could ne with DS1 Sad

MistsAndMellow · 02/10/2010 00:54

My DS very much enjoyed his sister's ELC Fairy Castle and accessories last year pink unicorn and horses and all.

LOL at "poxy" Fireman Sam.

Not sure about the toy iron and board, neither of my children would have a clue what they were / are for not having seen them very often Grin

Skyrg · 02/10/2010 00:56

I think it's so sad that these things are usually pink and glittery and aimed at girls (little girl playing with it on the box etc).
All these 'girl' toys should not be pink and obviously 'girly', then boys would probably feel a lot less pressured to avoid them.

TheLadyEvenstar · 02/10/2010 01:01

lmao he loves his ironing board.
Build up to his b'day he kept asking for a "Blue toy" so I took him to toysrus and out of all the blue toys he chose ..
this

and

this

although first is blue and white and second is white lol
