Just wondering... If there are, please tell me how you justify your believes as a religion?!

My dad is a scientologist. He has done so many of the courses that he can now only be audited by some big wig in florida. My half sister did attend and my half brother still does attend a school that follows the scientology theories on ethics and education. My sister went to their centre in florida to learn how to....actually i'm not really sure what she did there but she now works at the london centre. When i was growing up i spent many summer days at the uk headquarters in sussex as when my parents divorced he moved that way so he could be closer to it.

Small Charities don't need to register apparently. See:

Well my personal view is that it is a bit strange and a bit expensive!!
As a youngster i did one of their courses- a learning how to learn course. It made a lot of sense in that they teach that to learn you have to be willing to learn, understand the meaning of every single word you are studying, and have to re-read everything to make sure you understand what you have learned.
But the whole auditing/dianetics thing, i really just dont get it. In auditing you hold what looks like tin cans in each hand. These are hooked up to a machine called an e-meter.They say that these can read reactions in your mind. Not sure how, but i do know that my dad, his 2nd and 3rd wives and their children have spent hours undergoing these hourly sessions for years and that it has cost my dad many many thousands of pounds.
Like i said, i dont know that much.My mum is very anti scientology and kept my interaction with it to a minimum. If my dad had had his way i'd have gone to the same school as my half brother/sister and my life would probably have been very different.

Thanks for sharing that - I've never really heard anything from someone with first hand experience.
