I once found a full on dragonfly in a pack of washed and ready to eat Morrisons baby leaf salad. Environmental health took it away, did an investigation and said it was just one of those things.

Not a patch on this though.

OMG.... the tail Shock

It was the sixties.

Tippychoocks · 29/09/2010 09:48

Grin at it was the 60s

You're right, Hovis. Best of both indeed

wonka · 29/09/2010 10:02

OMG why did I open this.. off to check by best of both
I suppose at least it was cooked
I ate half a catterpillar in a very posh restaurant. They offered me another salad and still charged me for the one with the extra protein that I couldn't bring myself to finish!

Ages ago, friend who worked in a large supermarket said that it was known that the lads in the bakery played football with the dough out of hours.

maybe mousie got stuck to a "football"!

the photo is really bleugh. The story reminded me of the mumsnetter who found some meat in a vegetarian pie. Can't remember what happened though - I think ages later they admitted it was meat but hadn't identified what sort.

Best of Both Grin.

Rentatoast Grin.

When I was a saturday girl at Woolworths back in the late seventies you could buy cheese and meat as well as sweets, remember? - ah those were the days......anyway, I digress. Very regularily the slabs of meat and cheese (never vaccuum packed as I hope they are today!) would get dropped on the filthy stockroom floor. They would then be picked up, rubbed clean by an all singing all dancing wiping dusting cleaning rag and sold to those lovely unsuspecting customers. I cannot even begin to describe the stockroom floor but nobody I knew ever bought food from there.

RIP Woolworths.

I found a worm-thing in a tin of Baxters soup once. They sent me loads of vouchers to buy more of their soup. Unsurprisingly I didn't use them.

I also found a pube on a hash brown I bought from Tesco cafe. DH was pi&&ing himself when I went up to complain. I think she thought I was having a laugh but it was deep fried/baked on. She just looked at it and threw it in the bin. Then asked if I wanted another one..... Em, no thanks!
