And Mr Bell too has a lovely voice.
I think it's worth reading the book (although there's a lot of it - 520 pages in the Penguin edition - how many children/how much reading time do you have?). I felt the characters are more subtly drawn in the book - to the very best of my recollection, the scene at the start of the dvd where Thornton brutalises the worker caught smoking is an invention - and there's a lot of (to me anyway) very interesting social commentary. But then, I've always been fond of the Victorian novel.
And, of course, if you read the book now you will be able to visualise Mr Thornton.
I've still only seen 1 1/2 episodes of Robin Hood but I have to say that the character of Gisborne is not very well-developed, is it? 'Tis panto. Maybe the subtlety comes later?
Just seen the first promo for this year's CIN. Now, where's that Youtube clip?
