on top of my car insurance just because I got married is taking the piss. :(

Mine went DOWN when i got married....

Car insurance is up hugely this year. DH works in the business kind of, and says it's a nightmare - it's been artificially low for years, and everyone has got used to it, but they don't really cover their costs.

In the "current climate" there are more claims which cost more and the companies tanks are running dry, they have had to put the premiums up to a "real" level, not a loss leader any more....

He says it is really tough though on the customers, cos you are kind of getting 4 years of increases in one hit this year. Luckily, he is behind the scenes, not dealing with the angry man/woman in the street!
