I get a bit narked by the nastiness of some of the threads that just want to bitch about a celebrity. It just seems so pointless tbh.

Just saying how vile Pixie L is as a pop act on this thread, think the two are different (imo of course)

WHY (genuine question) do UK pop acts sing in American accents? PL is from Brentwood or somewhere, why sing like she is from Mississippi?

She is by far the only one to do this, Girls Aloud, Sugababaes, Cheryl Cole, they all sing in strange mid-atlantic tones as well.

I think having a couple of top ten singles (including being a co writer on some) allows you to be the subject of public notice - and I would rather think of her as a celebrity that a big brother contestant or a footballers wife.

I am happy to see her music dismissed as junk - it is. But sneering about her being famous when she does at least sing and write seems a bit harsh . Look at what psses as celebrity and then picking on her seems a bit [meh]

What's not to get? She makes pop music, she's not going to feature on the front cover of Wire any time soon.

I love pop music when it's good, and hers isn't.
