I feel like such an old fart writing this but I just don't get it. What's the attraction? Is it a bit like having your own blog famousness or is it just people lke being able to contact celebrities?
What is so great about it? What are so many people twittering about ?
Would anybody that is an enthusiastic user (is this the right word? Or are you called a twitter?....see- clueless) like to come along and educate me in this strange world I know nothing of?
Or am I intact NBU and the rest of you are as much in the dark as me?

I tried Twitter once and didnt know what to do so I gave up.

Im on facebook which has been a lifeline to me and my social life (if it weren't for FB Id never see ANYBODY).

Ive been reading this thread with interest cos I too wanted to know what all the fuss was about. As far as I could tell (up till this thread anyway) it was just to see what your fave celeb was up to.

DH has Twitter on his ipod, but he's not on facebook. He follows a few famous people about, Charlie Brooker, Tim Lovejoy, some wrestlers and others.

Talking of farms etc I dont bother with them in FB, but DH has got some fish app on his ipod and is constantly feeding his fish. He actually said to me the other month he might think about FB just so he could have a farm.

This thread has given me the thought to look at twitter again, but I really dont know what to do. I dont want to follow slebs and Im not really into anything enough to look into it on twitter.

Twitter is blinking great. Especially for those with a v. short attention span (eg me) Dip in, dip out, make pointless announcements to no one in particular - you can do what you like with it really.

And ipodge is actually making me stick to a diet for the first time in my life ? it's very odd that the threat of not being able to show my face (as it were) to a bunch of random strangers on the internet is what's spurring me on to lose weight I've been needing to lose for years.

Wait till we get the app! Slebs are not the main point of twitter

Alouiseg · 16/09/2010 21:35

LittleBoxes what's your tweet name?

missbeehiving · 16/09/2010 21:48

I'm a bit of a convert to Twitter actually. I still MN but Twitter is great for one liners. I ROFL at Twitter A LOT.
