Just feeling a bit fat and sad and pregnant.

Don't really need it. I can understand to a degre why people would be upset about an overweight family (people shouldn't stick their bad eating habits on children).. But the diabetes one really pisses me off. Some of the resoponses on both threads are really hurtful.

I've hidden this, like the others, because I suspect it's going to go the same way.

But I did want to second the Health At Every Size recommendation. DEfinitely worth looking into.

Good accessible intro site (American) here:

Hairy, I have the same metabolism as you do - and I weigh about the same as you do, for the same reasons; I forgot to stop eating like I was breastfeeding when I stopped breastfeeding.

Not everybody does have that metabolism, though,, and many, many of my fatter friends eat a lot less than I do. People aren't bunsent burners. It's funny, everyone knows a thin person who can eat anything, and they just throw their arms up all "it's not fair!" and think nothing of it. Meet a fat person who claims to eat hardly anything, and it's suddenly oh, they must be hiding Mars Bars under their bed, they must be lying about their exercise, calories in calories out blah blah fucking blah.
