Was I unreasonable to take DSs for and "adventure" in the rain this afternoon?

It's been at it all day here today and whilst we enjoyed a good few hours of make and do - have used up nearly all those craft kits well meaning relatives give them Grin by 3:30 it was starting to feel like a long time until bedtime.

So we put our coats on and went out in it. Just for an hour and never more than 10 min from home, if we decided to make a run for it. We splashed in puddles and felt the rain on our faces. Was great actually, one of life's simple pleasures that you don't do often enough.

We got home happy, soaked, although not cold, ready to get dry and have tea. My neighbour, who saw pur return, was horrified that I'd "deliberately" let them get so wet. Wasn't helped by the fact that they'd refused to put hoods up, but the wet "spiky" hair was part of the fun as hair gel is banned for little boys in this house.

They're 9 & 7, WIBU?

YANBU at all! What fun!! My two played in the garden late this afternoon in the pouring rain whilst I repotted some plants. We all got back indoors soaking wet and giggeling madly. Great fun! Then we all changed into our jammies, put a dvd on and had a warm drink and some one chocolate biscuits!

LackingInspiration- You've never seen 'Wizard Of Oz'?

Yes, but the witch wasn't made of sugar! I'm referring to all the people saying 'they're not made of sugar, they won't melt'!

You know you ain't being unreasonable. The real question was, I believe, "is my neighbour a sanctimonious nosey cunt?".

To which my answer would be yes, yes indeed.

YANBU

It's been a lovely day for playing in the rain!

We were at a friends this afternoon and all the kids wanted to turn the paddling pool over to see how much water they could collect in it and play in the garden - but my friend wouldn't let them - she's not risking them getting a cold before they go back to school Hmm

I love her to bits - but to say we parent quite differently is somewhat of an understatement!!

Phew, not me then (this time) I was beginning to wonder, as last time we had weather like this I took them to the park with their scooters. They loved the wakes they could leave behind them, but we didn't see another soul - not a single person out braving the rain.

My neighbour is actually lovely, an elderly lady who was in fact responsible for a number of the craft kits we did this morning!

She had 2 children of her own, but lost one early Sad so maybe she has different ideas of how children should be protected
