To leave DS on the dining table, where he's become stuck?

DS, 16 months, is an avid climber. Recently, he's been climbing on to the dining table, then jumping off. This morning he did it & hurt himself (slightly) & now he's scared. A few times this afternoon he's climbed up & I've had to show him how to climb down safely. He's up there again, stamping his feet & reaching out to me to get him down again.

It's teaching him a valuable lesson to just ignore him, isn't it? Grin

You know you have to get him down dont you? Grin

i am laughing because my 15 month old can't even walk and everyone keeps telling me he should be walking. this is exactly why i am in no rush to make him walk.

but good luck , either way he will get up and do it again you know Grin

Do I have to? Even if he's quietly lying on his belly, looking for crumbs? Grin[slattern]

take a photo for when he is 18.

i did find ds in the drawer of the coffe table today though, camera had no batteries.

booyhoo, believe me, if I could have had him not walking by now, that would've been good! It's just been a nightmare - he really started at about 11 months & now he runs & climbs & jumps... If I ever wonder where he's gone, I'll nearly always find him jumping on our bed Shock

Show him how to climb down?

RespectTheDoughnut · 19/08/2010 14:02

Oh yes, I do enjoy collecting blackmail photos. The ones I'll keep in a special album marked 'New Girlfriend'.

she already has tonari

RespectTheDoughnut · 19/08/2010 14:03

I have shown him. Several times today. & he knows anyway. He's just lost his confidence by being silly this morning. I don't even know for sure if he even hurt himself. If he did, it was very slight. He may have just scared himself for some reason that time. But at least 6 times now, I've shown him 'feet first, on to the chair... now the floor... yes, good boy! Like the stairs!', but he's enjoying having me running over to him every couple of minutes.

Haha, yes. Lots of fun. So much fun, I bet you'd like to swap for a couple of days? Grin

booyhoo · 19/08/2010 14:05

em, can i get back to you on that one? Grin

Tee2072 · 19/08/2010 14:07

Booyhoo, you're 15 month old is suppose to be walking? Says who?!?!

I, personally, did not walk until I was 22 months. I walk perfectly fine now at 41! (Okay, that's a lie, I frequently trip over my own feet. Grin)

RTD - I would leave him. But I'm a MEAN MEAN MUMMY (TM).

RespectTheDoughnut · 19/08/2010 14:07

Well next time you're feeling a bit bored (!), just let me know & I'll send a little ball of fun to you Grin

booyhoo · 19/08/2010 14:12

aww, he fell asleep on the table, definitly a photo oportunity.

Tee2072 · 19/08/2010 14:14

Gosh, what would she make of my A, who never has crawled (he either bum shuffles, slides along our wood floors or walks on hands and feet) and, at 14 months, has really just started cruising seriously!

He does, however, stand up very easily without holding on to anything. Grin

BuntyPenfold · 19/08/2010 14:15

Move the chairs away?

OP posts:
booyhoo · 19/08/2010 14:17

see ds has been cruising for months but wont stand. it's funny how they all do it differently yet still end up with teh same result.

booyhoo · 19/08/2010 14:18
