To leave DS on the dining table, where he's become stuck?

DS, 16 months, is an avid climber. Recently, he's been climbing on to the dining table, then jumping off. This morning he did it & hurt himself (slightly) & now he's scared. A few times this afternoon he's climbed up & I've had to show him how to climb down safely. He's up there again, stamping his feet & reaching out to me to get him down again.

It's teaching him a valuable lesson to just ignore him, isn't it? Grin

Haha, he's usually cuter when he's sleeping Wink

At least I may be able to earn special MN Eco points for the drying towels draped over everything? [cringe]

teach him to slide down like a fireman!

Kathyjelly · 19/08/2010 14:25

You know should take him down. But it doesn't make any difference in the long run. My ds pushes a chair across the kitchen and climbs into the sink so he can poke his finger up the tap.

Or to under the window. Then chair to radiator, radiator to window sill. We've learned to keep the windows locked.

As far as I can tell, the risks just get bigger for the next 15 years Grin

ha, they are ALL cuter when they are sleeping

StormyWeather · 19/08/2010 14:28

How gorgeous! He's a wee sweetheart. Made me smile. Smile

My dad's a fireman, so there could be some mileage in that when he's bigger: 'yes, exactly like Granddad!' [eye roll]

& God, don't say that Kathy! Is there never a time where you can stop worrying for 5 minutes?! Shock
