We have had visitors to stay over the weekend
A friend of DH and his 10year old son. Son had a bit of an accident getting a ball back from next door, and was shouting fuck fuck fuck. Dad was laughing!
Then all the boys sat around telling stories with lots of swearing and adult content!
I don't want my son to grow up like this.
Am I being horribly naive? You should curb your language right? or do 10 year olds swear?!

Hope he doesn't blurt out to his teacher that's what mummy did Hmm

clouddragon...it's great that your mum was able to get through to you by talking. However, if I told my DS that swearing is for aduls only he would argue that this is unfair ie, do as i say not as i do.

AlisonDubois · 19/08/2010 20:28

deaddei, if he chooses to tell his teachers then fine. Although this happened last year so if he was going to mention it think he would have done so by now.

clouddragon · 19/08/2010 20:32

just ignore it then, he's doing it to wind you up and it's obviously working.

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 19/08/2010 20:38

Alison - not all adults swear. Just tell him it's for ignorant adults who aren't intelligent enough to express themselves with swearing.

Then stop pushing soap into the poor lad's mouth and take pocket money off him, confiscate his xbox or whatever, or send him to his room.

AlisonDubois · 19/08/2010 20:39

He's doing it because he hears other kids swearing, mainly at school, as I've heard them too, and is copying his peers.
I don't swear in front of them, neither do friends or relatives.

Id give him a Biscuit to take the taste away.
