is a bit too convenient for the 'sufferer'?
So he really can't just do as he is told, he has ODD etc?
How do schools deal with this?

'agree with corns1lk but a bit jealous that she said elegantly in a few lines that which took me a couple of hugee bloody paragraphs'

I actually loved your 'huge' post
I totally understand what you mean- indeed I, as the parent of an nt child, accept behaviour at home that dd wouldn't dare display at school. Everyone does I'm sure. Home is a place to relax and release the constraints of work/school/whatever.

I suspect my view is clouded by the environment in which I work, where boundaries are relaxed and routine non existent, not from a loving or caring perspective, but because the adults in the home simply can't be arsed to parent.

my 14 yr old son told me about a mate who was up on an assault charge for headbutting a security guard for not letting him into an ice skating arena. He then informed me that this lad has IED - Intermittent explosive disorder - to which I admit my first thought was don't you mean he's a violent little b* who just can't control his temper and thinks he can do whatever he likes...? Ok so I looked it up on google and it does exist, my worry is if he actually has been diagnosed then how the hell is he being treated or helped, because it seems that he's just falling through the cracks - no parental support let alone medical or otherwise - and is just going straight to jail without passing Go. How can a 15 yr old child be left to deal with something like that on their own? Answer - they can't. Sad
