2kids2dogsandahorse · 04/08/2010 19:13

Can someone please explain the allure of this Copenhagen tunic to men because I'm not really getting it as a female

bodiddly · 04/08/2010 19:17

I like the tweedy blazer meself. Bit steep though for my current budget at £130 if I'm keeping the other stuff but sending the silk dress back.

Re Copenhagen tunic. Don't know about any mantrap attributes but I like it because it's fitted without being clingy and the lengths are good on my height/frame.

jafina · 04/08/2010 19:27

YANBU

It's the prints that do my head in, they are just as bad as wearing a brand name smeared across your chest imho. And I don't do brand names. I just hate things that shout Boden or Gap or whatever.

Whoever said the prints look like Scandi wallpaper was spot-on. And the denim with the contrast stitching is just yuck. The only thing I liked the look of was the cord dress, will be interested to hear reports on how it looks on a more than size 8.

2kids2dogsandahorse · 04/08/2010 19:48

I'd just like Boden to get back to doing what it used to do brilliantly mildly sexy, slightly funky clothes that scream quality but don't make me look like a kindergartener who wandered out of the playground during art time.

Johnnie time to join MN and listen to what we want

CheerfulYank · 05/08/2010 18:06

Yes Johnnie, do.

tinylion · 05/08/2010 18:11

It's pants cos there's no petite! So if I want to wear anything, (and I'm 5 foot on a good day) it's all miles and miles too long. Also everyone KNOWS what you are wearing...and I'm not sure I like that. And yes, the models are too skinny...curvy short models please Johnnie!

girlwiththecherrytattoo · 05/08/2010 18:27

Their dresses are always such an unflattering length, just below the knee, looks hideous on anyone over a size 8.

girlwiththecherrytattoo · 05/08/2010 18:28

Am also utterly sick of receiving 1 x catalogue per week from them. And their Johnnie B stuff is quite ridiculously overpriced.

Housewife2010 · 05/08/2010 19:47

Boden will be be doing Petite & Maternity wear from next Spring

Cookie79 · 05/08/2010 19:49

I saw 2 Boden dresses in my local charity shop (Rochdale of all places!!) for £7 each but still didn't buy them as they looked like wallpaper that my nanna would reject as 'old fashioned'.

2kids2dogsandahorse · 05/08/2010 20:53

Not a peep from Johnnie

OP posts:
sorky · 06/08/2010 17:58

Right order arrived.

Weirdly, will keep it all.
Breton knitted dress is lovely fit
Copenhagen tunic is very nice.
Outgoing top and drapey cardigan, good fit and material.

Wasn't expecting the clothes to be nice, may well buy more.

I'm am not curvy and all the stuff fits really well, so I can understand people being disappointed with the fit if you have big norks and/or a waist.

Sizing is consistent for me.

Maylee · 06/08/2010 18:01

YABU for shopping at Boden

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 06/08/2010 18:06

Boden will be doing petite??? Oh FAB!! Smile Smile

I'm in my forties and very conservative, therefore I'm allowed to like Boden. I do like the fact that they've done away with the irritating little soundbites from the models this season.

Colliewollydoodle · 19/07/2011 14:54

Trouble with Boden around here is every Yummy Mummy is wearing it! And as you saunter around Waitrose ! you are likely to do the Boden Snap! Do you know Ive just remembered, when I was a little girl it used to be like that with M&S.
If Boden did plainer basics then it wouldn't be so obviously Boden, boden patterns are very boden, oh and why do they put frills on stuff! Oh and I'm 4 foot 11 , So I end up cutting more off the trousers than I leave on.
Ive just rambled on! Sorry.

sue52 · 19/07/2011 16:18

I'm dressed in full metal Boden as I write, however I do think it's time they stopped calling their clothes such stupid names. I am too old to buy something called a "fun skirt".
