Well, I ask you.

I was wiaitng for hordes of people to come and tell the OP that TPB is disgusting, that she should grow her own pine nuts and to make own pesto for her little cherubs.

There were just a few sensible posts talking about TPB.

No rows.
No snidey comments.
Didn't kick off.

What is MN coming to.

Home made butter is unbelievably lovely. I always sprinkle Maldon Salt Crystals on the top of the block so you get a lovely salty crunch as well.

AllarmBells · 30/07/2010 17:31

I love TPB. Is there a posh recipe for it without using the magic powder? (It won't be as nice but I'm happy to give it a go)

jaggythistle · 30/07/2010 17:32

I don't think I have ever had Tuna Pasta Bake

Oblomov · 30/07/2010 17:37

jaggythistle, you haven't LIVED !

BitOfFun · 30/07/2010 17:38

How do you make butter then?

Oblomov · 30/07/2010 17:40

RKA, you made butter ? mind you butter on tiger is unbeatable. simplist things are the best. a good pate. nice bread. a good cheese.

obs slips off for some brie and pate on crackers to go with her glass of wine she's just poured (1st one for nearly 2 weeks , so don't even bother with this its a sin before 6 crap thta we get on MN.)

Harryan · 30/07/2010 17:44

alarmbells I wouldn't call it a posh recipe (sounds quite gross tbh lol) but a friend of mine used to make hers with cambells condensed chicken soup instead of the magic powder.

Btw my kids LOVE tpb!!

coraltoes · 30/07/2010 17:44

did someone say PATE?

coral slumps in seat weeping at no pate for another 7 months.

ps- how do you make your own butter? i lurve crusty bread and butter

shimmerysilverglitter · 30/07/2010 17:45

Double Cream. Whisk, whisk, whisk with a whisk or electric mixer, or put into a container with a lid on and shake (takes along time though), it will become whipped cream, keep going until you start seeing grainy yellow bits in it, keep going until they get bigger. There will be a thin white liquid left, drain this off, rinse the butter thoroughly, squeezing all the skimmed milk out of it. Mould it, I usually just use a tupperware container, salt if you want to. Easiest thing ever.

Oblomov · 30/07/2010 17:49

WE have had the most loveliest day. But I don't have TPB for dinner. will ready made ravioli do ? not really.

HonestyBox · 30/07/2010 17:51

I've always detested the combination of tuna and pasta - what is more Greenpeace have all the different tuna on their red list. Bluefin tuna is critically endangered , even more reason not to tuna pasta bake (can you tell I watched 'the end of the line' the other day).

CreepyFunbags · 30/07/2010 17:52

I haven't had tuna pasta bake, OR sausage pasta.

JemAndEllie · 30/07/2010 18:14

i adore TPB, my DDs favourite, always with crisps on and cheese on top of that!!

Aitch · 30/07/2010 18:16

tuna pasta bake is unspeakably vile, of course.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 30/07/2010 18:22

Tuna is one of the few foods I don't like.

I do like a good pasta bake though, especially with crumbled crisps on top which a PP mentioned.

Also love potato bake which for some reason has the very posh name dauphinoise(sp?) here - there ain't nuffin posh about potato bake.

kayah · 30/07/2010 18:32

I actually made pasta bake
kids loved it
slightly different from what's been said here, but woh cares if they lick plates clean

deaddei · 30/07/2010 18:34

I hate tuna.
But dd makes a mean pasta bake with chorizo and spinach

RobynLou · 30/07/2010 18:38

ooooh I'm so making butter! didn't realise it was so simple!

I like TPB...and sausage pasta.....

but TPB with mushroom soup? that sounds vile! - onion/garlic/veggies/herbs/can of toms here...

LaundryLyne · 30/07/2010 18:48

What about pasta tuna bake?

Oblomov · 30/07/2010 18:48

dh is highly allergic to tuna. only thing we don't eat.
ds1 not keen on salad, lettuce and cucumber. ds2 doesn't like egg sandwiches.
i am not keen on cockles, welcks and sprouts.
other than that we eat everyhting.
No TPB in our house.

Hassled · 30/07/2010 18:49

It's when people talk about Tuna Melts that it all kicks off.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 30/07/2010 18:58

VILE!

OrientCalf · 30/07/2010 19:04

oblomov dp allergic too, though not so much that I can't eat it myself

loathe hot tuna though (feel nauseous just thinking about it), so TPB off the menu
