Am fed up of there being loads of clothes for girls in EVERY shop and a tiny crappy selection for boys.

Tis true, alas. Am with you on that one....got 2 boys - I really struggle with getting them stuff.

twolittlemonkeys · 27/07/2010 23:16

Totally with you - it's the same in every shop, whether a clothes shop or the clothes section of a supermarket. And the boys stuff is so samey. Grrr

JeMeSouviens · 27/07/2010 23:16

I hear you! Have my second DS on the way, and am struggling, just as well we have all of DS1 clothes. Particularly hard to get dressy clothes/shoes. We're in Canada, I deduce therefore it's a worldwide problem!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 27/07/2010 23:18

I have some great stuff from H&M, Gap was disappointing.

PosyPetrovaPauline · 27/07/2010 23:19

true true true it's awful

ponceydog · 27/07/2010 23:19

I see nice stuff for baby boys when I am out and about. My sister has great outfits for her boy.

kingnothing · 27/07/2010 23:22

I seem to find clothes ok for DS - he's almost 12 months. Does it get worse as they get older?

Alambil · 27/07/2010 23:22

H&M is great until they get too big for the young kids stuff which DS rapidly is - their selection of older kids stuff is very old for more teenagers, imo whereas their younger stuff is great; it's bright, funky, trendy and affordable - there seems to be a gap from their 6/7 age clothes and 14up stuff - I might write to them about it, not that it'll do much

nearlytoolate · 27/07/2010 23:22

hmm, but my ds's still end up with far more clothes than the really need
So there must be ENOUGH choice.
I mainly get stuff from boden, john lewis, next, and H&M.
I can't say I feel a great need for more shopping opportunities in my life

CurlyhairedAssassin · 27/07/2010 23:24

Baby boys stuff not too bad - yes, it DOES get worse as they get older. Lewisfan has it spot on.

nearlytoolate · 27/07/2010 23:24

Mine are 8 and 6 btw. Once at school they really don't need much tbh. a few pairs of trousers and some t-shirts and one or two fleeces/sweatshirts.

PosyPetrovaPauline · 27/07/2010 23:24

no fun though is it - nothing fabulous and fun - just denim and khaki

i love boys but their clothes are dull - i shop for hours to find nice bits

ponceydog · 27/07/2010 23:28

well, maybe the trick is to hate shopping. I hate shopping and I have never fretted much about lack of choice. We are overrun with shopping opportuntieis.

mamatomany · 27/07/2010 23:28

www.myboyswear.com My friend had the same problem so she started her own company, have a little look

nearlytoolate · 27/07/2010 23:29

I don't know - ds2 looks nice in boden flowery shorts. Though perhaps I'm not typical - i hate clothes shopping for myself and prefer boyish styles so I feel pretty comfortable - I think buying for girls would freak me out a lot more.

nearlytoolate · 27/07/2010 23:30

ah ponceydog thank you for joining me!

shellio · 27/07/2010 23:31

Yes i did get some beautiful baby clothes but after that it went rapidly downhill! Most stores seem to think that boys go from cute babies straight to being teenagers clotheswise. IYSWIM.

I love buying boys stuff and never have a problem finding nice stuff. I love Sainsburys TU for younger boys, M&Co, Next, and sometimes Asda & Tesco or M&S.

BlueFergie · 28/07/2010 00:10

Yes I agree, but what is even worse is boys shoes. horribly dull boring shoes, all browns and dark blues. DD has gorgeous shoes, and I am not looking for sparkles and butterflies for DS but surely a few flashes of colour and some boats or balls isn't to much to ask?

Debenhams is fab, get the majority oft sons clothes from there.

chasingrainbows · 28/07/2010 00:31

yip - aside from the likes of boden and maybe gap - clothing ranges for boys are dull.
i get excited by hand-me-downs of osh-kosh from friends overseas.
there has got to be an alternative to the t's n jeans combo n sports strips surely?

DinahRod · 28/07/2010 00:40

Believe it or not but Next have some child appropriate clothes for boys this season. Not all of it's online yet. bright
cheery
Otherwise, I find John Lewis a safe bet.
