Hmm. Salmon and broccoli, say, with new potatoes, etc - lovely. Can't quite picture them in a curry atm - what kind of curry?

abslutely nothing wrong with salmon or broccoli - both yum.

but salmon and broccoli CURRY?! yeurghh!

YAdefBU to think this is a good combo.

Bonsoir · 21/07/2010 21:26

Salmon and broccoli curry . I think you are trying too hard, here!

BusyMissIzzy · 21/07/2010 21:27

Salmon and broccoli go together, but I think curry would overwhelm the delicate salmon flavour.

TrinityRhino · 21/07/2010 21:27

noooo salmon is too delicate a taste to be in a curry

it would be pointless

you wouldn't taste the salmon

I love salmon and brocolli

just serve with new pots and carrots

YUM

ladysybil · 21/07/2010 21:28

er, just simple curry? i fry onions, add tomatos, garlic, turmeric, chilli powder, cumin and coriander powders then in a littl ebit, add the salmon and the broccoli. let it cook on low heat till done.
i dont know if it has a name. just bung in some curry type things.

x-posted Trinity

domesticsluttery · 21/07/2010 21:29

I have put them in a light Thai curry before now and it was nice.

But I'm thinking that a Balti might be a bit too overpowering...

Salmon curry?

ladysybil · 21/07/2010 21:30

he wanted a curry. i asked what sort. he asked if i had any fish. i said yes, salmon. so he asked me to do in a curry. the broccoli was my idea rather than the pepper i thought initially.
okie, mumsnet rules that he is in the right. shall not do that again then.

not in curry.

Salmon with new potatoes in herb butter and broccoli/ carrot, maybe some babycorn?

dinkystinky · 21/07/2010 21:32

Its fine - am indian and have had salmon and any number of different vegs in curries courtesy of my genius mother's catering growing up. Enough spices and will taste lovely.

LetThereBeRock · 21/07/2010 21:34

While not quite a curry, salmon tikka/tandoori isn't an unusual dish in Indian restaurants here.

I'd eat salmon and broccoli curry. Sounds good to me.

PaintingTheFence · 21/07/2010 21:34

Salmon and broccoli are both nice. But in a curry wouldn't they disintegrate and go mushy?

SirBoobAlot · 21/07/2010 21:35

Why are you ruining salmon like that?!

And no one deserves to have to eat broccoli

jooseyfruit · 21/07/2010 21:36

Salmon in a Thai Laksa (sp?) with noodles.

Habbibu · 21/07/2010 21:37

Ooh, yes, joosey.

Psammead · 21/07/2010 21:37

I'd do it. It would take the taste of The Evil Fish away.

jooseyfruit · 21/07/2010 21:37

Salmon can take a bit of harsh treatment. You could smear (i Love that word)curry paste on and grill?

epithet · 21/07/2010 21:38

I had a lovely salmon and broccoli pasta dish in a restaurant the other night - in a cream sauce that had loads of chilli in, so neither too bland nor too spicy. It was delish, honest. Not sure about full-on curry, but if done by someone who really knows their spices, I think it could be nice.

gtamom · 21/07/2010 21:38

I had curry salmon and lentil soup before and it was really great.
I'd just curry the salmon and serve the broccoli on the side though.

ladysybil · 21/07/2010 21:40

it had to be something easy simple and quick to make. i love broccoli personally. and salmon too. and he really does need to eat more vegetables. but, i shant bother doing it again.
it wont mush in the curry, coz i dont really stir it once its all in and coated. just leave it to cook on low heat.
