to be angry with my friend for letting her little boy attack mine?

Had a friend over for lunch today with a little boy the same age as mine (nearly 1)They were enjoying cheese on toast when her little boy, out of the blue, took my baby's food and then hit him. My friend did not explain to her baby that this is not on. I ALWAYS tell my child not to hit, even though he is only young. I think she was totally out of order. AIBU?

Hmmm I would have said no just for the sake of the other mother, to be seen to be making the peace and apologising on the baby's behalf which always goes down well.
I'd give it another 12 months before explaining anything to the actual LO though otherwise you're wasting your breath.

YANBU to expect the mother to say 'no' or 'naughty' firmly to her baby. They may not understand words or lengthy explanations but they do pick up on tone of voice and facial expression....
