Hi, as soon as I saw the thread I thought impetigo- but does the dr not think so? Just been on excema thread,dd just developed it and it doesnt seem to itch but did start with small patch on her cheek. Sorry not more helpful!!

vvvvvvv · 16/03/2007 20:43

Ah yes when i had impitigo it was crusty! You could try aqueos (sp?) or something aimed at excema and see. DD was prescribed fucidin for her cheek when dr thought it was infected, it didnt work but may b the kind of thing u need.

replied to you on the other thread, where you say you have seen 4 docs and 2 say it's the make up , 2 it's impertigo...and still think that those docs diagnosing imertigo will have prescribed something for it, as you mention it was the doc that thinks it's a reaction to make up that gave you oilatum...anyway...must say I stay well cear from Oilatum, as dispite it being raved as the best emoiliient, me and my boys all react to it badly.
Also, I am surprised that you weren't discribed hydrocortison cream, as one would expect from a doctor diagnosing an allergic reaction....hm...

vvvvvvv · 16/03/2007 21:15

when i had it before i was giving fucdin and antibiotics and that never touched it it went on its own after 7 weeks.so maybe it is a rection to the makeup

If its a recurring thing make an appointment with the gp and ask them to refer you to a skin specialist

vvvvvvv · 16/03/2007 21:20

yep i think im gonna have too as this aint on

OP posts:
powder28 · 16/03/2007 21:22

If your gp isw reluctant to refer you, then insist he/she has to. Otherwise look up private clinics on the internet that specialise in skin. I think there is a clinic that is actually called 'skin'

vvvvvvv · 16/03/2007 21:25

can you help as i dont really know how to do it i want to look at pic of inpertigo so i can see or pics of reactions frm products

OP posts:
3andnomore · 16/03/2007 21:28

net doctor on impetigo
impetigo pics...plenty of them

powder28 · 16/03/2007 21:31

If you go to ask.com and type in impertigo it will bring up various links. Also type in skin specialists in the area where you live you will get various links come up.
Look up skin allergies etc
If you are getting married next month could it be aggravated by stress?

vvvvvvv · 16/03/2007 21:34

3andnomore thankyou so much for them links just had a look my mind is kinda at rest as it is not that at all. so proble a reaction should i keep on using the oilatum?

OP posts:

if you think it is an allergic reaction ask at a pharmacy for an antihistamine ceam. If they say they don't have one ask them to look at insect bite remedies. Or buy piriton tablets. If it is an allergic problem that is likely to make it improve rapidly.

vvvvvvv · 17/03/2007 12:35

well i have just got some piriton so im gonna take them and she what happenes as it is really stinging and itchy

OP posts:
vvvvvvv · 17/03/2007 12:37

im not gonna apply the oilatum cream any more thats just made it worse the docs are fucking useless....................................they really dont give a shit the chemist said to not use the oilatum and take thye piriton so thats what im gonna do and just hope and pray it goes before my wedding.xxx

OP posts:
Furball · 17/03/2007 13:11

you can also get an antihistaminne cream that you could just dab on and see if that helps.

vvvvvvv · 17/03/2007 14:28

antihistime emm im not sure about taking the cream as im not sure what is it? i dont really wanna keep adding all different creams im just gonna see what the pirtion does and if that dont help then im gonna go bk to the gp. thanks for your help.

OP posts:
lemonaid · 17/03/2007 14:35

Piriton is an antihistamine, but you take it by mouth and it affects your whole system (including the problem patch). And it can have side-effects, e.g. make you drowsy. Posters are suggesting an antihistamine cream because it's essentially the same stuff but you could apply it externally specifically to the problem area. Something designed for insect bites, for example, would be an antihistamine cream.

vvvvvvv · 17/03/2007 14:44

WELL IF THIS PIRTION WORKS THEN I WILL GET THE CREAM? DO YOU THINK IT SOUNDS LIKE A REACTION TO THE SKIN FROM THE MAKEUP I WAS USEING?MY NAN JUST POPED BY SHE SAID IT LOOKS LIKE TWP LITTLE BLISTERS BUT I DONT THINK SO IT LOOKS LIKE TWO BIG RED SPOTS THEY DONT HAVE A HEAD ITS REALLY RED THO? WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?
