Rights during the approval process

Hi,
We're currently in stage one of the adoption process (hopefully nearing the end and fingers crossed will move into stage 2 soon).
Obviously in stage 1 I had to tell my line manager for references purposes. She was really supportive and all was ok.

A couple of weeks ago, I, somewhat naively, told my wider team about it, including my grandparent manager. Today I've found out that there is a plan to move me sideways into another team. My line manager has known about this for a week and hasn't spoken to me about it at all, someone else has let it slip to me. It sounds like the plan has come from my grandparent manager.

I may be paranoid and it might have nothing to do with adoption, but do I have any rights before we've been approved to adopt? I'm not being sacked or managed out I don't think, just moved out of my current team (which I don't want)

I've tried googling the current UK laws but it all seems to refer to post adoption rights and this board seems to be full of knowledge so I thought I'd ask here.

Thank you.

Not an expert but this did happen to me. I left within about a week of a big restructure, and although the team I was moved to wouldn't have been my first choice, or a even a logical one based on my experience, it's where the gap in resource was. And when I returned, I did feel like I was being usefully deployed rather than shafted or pushed out so I just went with it.

There was a thread in aibu recently about something similar. Although there is quite a bit more going on as she's already back at work on part time hours and needed to take more time off, but the responses there seem to suggest that bringing you back in an equal position elsewhere in the organisation is acceptable, and that was my understanding too. It's here if you wanted to take a look.
