Does anyone know why the pay negotiations are so quiet this year? No updates since mid May that I can see and no offer tabled?

I’m afraid it’s nowhere near that amount @EverybodyWantsTo this link to the University of Manchester lays it out https://www.staffnet.manchester.ac.uk/news/display/?id=31763

So those on spine point 22 & below will get £900 now and an extra £300 in March. Those on spine points 23-37 will get the £900 plus £250 and everyone else just gets the £900.

Oh Jesus. I thought it was 2.5% in March in addition to the £900.
That really is shocking.

I’ll admit to being utterly depressed about the increase or lack thereof. I’m feel overwhelmed by the year on year increases to motoring insurance, home and contents insurance, water bills and council tax ranging between 5% and 80%. The weekly shop for our family seems to now be 1.5 times what is was two years ago and don’t get me started on energy costs.
In the same month that our university put the daily car parking charge up by 100% the JNCHES award us real terms a less than 2% cost of living increase???FFS??
And at the same time the amount of work keeps expanding at an alarming rate. It’s the first week of teaching and by the end of it I will have pulled 50-60 hours. By the end of term that will only go up. Despite being massively overworked I’m finding myself doing a 150 hour mental health awareness course in my own time just to arm myself with the skills to support the anxious, and poor MH of our students. I don’t even know who the Pro VCs or executive group are out our place anymore, there is such a turn over of them. Half of them seem to be on gardening leave within 18 months of arriving before climbing the greasy pole elsewhere.
I don’t see much point any longer in striking given the poor union attempt last summer. That was a farce.
Everything needs a massive shakeup

So sorry @Blueskybluesky1 The start of term chaos is a bad week for bad news, but that all sounds really untenable.
