a new thread for us all. Most of us do Farmville, but we play quite a range of other games between us so weather you're into Mafia Wars, Farming, playing Bejewelled, Farkle, Cafes or any other games and you just can't stop - and your OH is bored sick of you saying

"Oh I levelled up" or "ooo I've got ribbon/mastery/whatever" - then this is the place to be. Even if we don't play "your" game we're still happy to hear you talking about how you're doing on it.

I often comment on them

and none of my RL friends ask who all my friends are - actually my brother is on my FB (though we rarely speak in RL) - and HE has added MNers for his Farmville etc

MedusaHead · 15/12/2009 23:34

I think my sister-in-laws who were the only people I knew on farmville before I added you lot will get suspicious as I am surging ahead so quickly. I don't want to tell them that you are all mn friends as they will then probably pinch you from me and that would never do. Not now I am doing so well, [rubs hands together in a Bond villain manner].

My DH thinks MN is all about sex anyway so he would be most surprised to learn that I've acquired loads of new farmville neigbours from here .

Niecie · 16/12/2009 00:11

ALFA - comment away if you are brave. I wouldn't be bothered if one of you commented on something I had posted - I would just be glad somebody had actually read it! I just wondered if other people might think it was odd but that is the sort of silly thing I worry about! I shouldn't waste my energy should I?!

On the other hand, if somebody didn't like me commenting they may stop being my neighbour and delete me from their friends. That can't be allowed to happen either - must keep the neighbour numbers up. You never know how many you will need for the next FV expansion.

I wonder if they will give an expansion as a Christmas present.

Right if you see me here in the next 2 hours - tell to get on with my bloody essay. It is driving me mad and delaying the start of Christmas!

LoremIpsum · 16/12/2009 00:47

Thank you for all the gifts on FV, CL and CW.

I just wanted to let you know I'm having connection and loading issues atm so am concentrating on FV as I don't want to lose my crops.

Please don't think I'm ignoring you on the other games, or by not sending stuff back. As soon as I can get up and running again properly, I'll get it sorted on CL and CW.

desertgirl · 16/12/2009 02:47

Niecey you can comment on any of my posts you like!

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 16/12/2009 06:30

yay - got my wheat mastery - that's number 8 - going to hammer the ghost chillies now - should have that finished by tomorrow afternoon, then I'll finish the strawberries off - that should be done by mid weekend - which will take my mastery signs into double figures

Still only have gift request for date trees in FV - anything else on the other games is fine.

OH - and they've changed the fertilizer on FV so you can fertilizer ploughed land and fully grown crops

aberita · 16/12/2009 07:22

I've had a few MNers commenting on my status updates, which is fine by me - like you Niecie, I'd be glad someone had read it and actually taken the time to comment on it. I certainly wouldn't take offence! But I've also wondered about the etiquette and think twice about commenting if I don't know the person in RL.

I've also wondered whether any of my RL friends have noticed that I suddenly have about three times as many friends on FB, but no one has said anything yet - or about the fact that I've surged ahead of the few who play FV. I also have a lot more MN friends on FB than I do RL ones, which makes me feel far more popular even if I don't know two-thirds of them!

Niecie · 16/12/2009 09:41

Planted up roses and potatoe so should get a first star for those at the next harvest. I will also get the first star for water melons and pineapples in the next 24 hours.

So that only leaves cabbages, corn, blackberries, red wheat, lavender, sugar cane, yellow melons, ones and peas with no stars (apart from the 4 crops I can't plant yet as I haven't reached the right level.

I wonder if I could get a star for everything by Christmas Day?

And then I can start work on the 2nd stars!

Going back to posting on MNers's FB, I suppose my concern is that I, a relative stranger, could interrupt a conversation between the MNer, their Great Aunty Bessie and big sister Gladys to which I wouldn't be have been part of in RL and so perhaps shouldn't be part of on FB. Just feels a teeny bit wrong. However, perhaps if I have some something breathtakingly useful to say I will risk a post (that would be a first!). Or maybe I should just stick to smiley faces :-)

simpson · 16/12/2009 09:41

I don't mind if anyone comments on my status either

Feel free to comment away!!

Will get level 25 on CL today

StretchAndBitsOfTinsel · 16/12/2009 09:41

I don't mind comments!

I have all my presents now thanks to you lovely lot!

I move in 2 days, what on earth am I doing on here!!??

Oh well!

Niecie · 16/12/2009 09:45

Actually they should have some decent emoticons on FB. I really miss , and particularly.

MedusaHead · 16/12/2009 10:53

I only need another 15000 coins up upgrade to a plantation.

I have kept 1 countrylife neighbour request in my requests box and am trying to not accept it, (although notice I haven't deleted it either). For those of you who play both countrylife and farmville which do you prefer?

This is no good. I am supposed to be writing my Christmas cards this morning. I'm off.

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 16/12/2009 11:07

Medusa - they're both really different so hard to compare - I like them both in different ways

will level up to 34 in CL at some point today

OP posts:
Awassailinglookingforanswers · 16/12/2009 11:08

Medusa - have you been and "helped" and fertilized your friends farms - I find that's a good time filler as well

OP posts:
StretchAndBitsOfTinsel · 16/12/2009 11:13

Is that mine Medusa?? Please accept me!!

I like both of them. There are good bits about both.

CL
You can move plots around
You don't have to plough all the time.
Harvest don't wither
Animals are cute

Downfalls are you can't store things.

simpson · 16/12/2009 11:21

I like FV and CL both tbh.

FV is probably my fav as it was the first farm I had iyswim and have been playing it for ages

But really like concept of CL and the fact the crops don't die

MedusaHead · 16/12/2009 11:22

ALFA yes I have fertilized and sent gifts. It's no good I am going to have to go and write Xmas cards. I might have a look at CL later if i get all my rl stuff done.

OMG - I've just realised it's SNOWING!

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 16/12/2009 11:23

I want snow

OP posts:
simpson · 16/12/2009 11:36

Oooh I have looked outside and I have snow too!!

Niecie · 16/12/2009 11:41

And me!

Niecie · 16/12/2009 11:48

I think on balance I like CL best at the moment. FV is good but I don't really have anything to play for other than stars and they aren't quite as satisfying as extending your farm and being able to rearrange things which where I am still at on CL.

Maybe I will revert back to FV when all the CL expansions have been done. There is more variety although probably less complicated. You plant and harvest and it doesn't matter much which plants you do. It matters a lot more in CL because if you don't harvest your wheat at the same time as your eggs, for example, that is your bread production down messed up for the day.

Big responsibility getting that right!

StretchAndBitsOfTinsel · 16/12/2009 11:49

Rain here!

Ok, in my desperate attempt to get more ranch cash, I have just installed Zoost or something, for meeting single people! You lot'll cover for me if DH finds out won't you?!

I will be uninstalling it tomorrow, but if he finds it he will NOT be impressed!

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 16/12/2009 11:51

PMSL Stretch - I nearly added that the other day but couldn't quite bring myself to do it

OP posts:
StretchAndBitsOfTinsel · 16/12/2009 11:55

Oh dear! It's 6 ranch cash though!!!!

StretchAndBitsOfTinsel · 16/12/2009 11:56

Right, I am just doing presents for countrylife now. What do you all want? Otherwise you are all getting wine, so you can sell it! And farmville will be presents.
