a new thread for us all. Most of us do Farmville, but we play quite a range of other games between us so weather you're into Mafia Wars, Farming, playing Bejewelled, Farkle, Cafes or any other games and you just can't stop - and your OH is bored sick of you saying

"Oh I levelled up" or "ooo I've got ribbon/mastery/whatever" - then this is the place to be. Even if we don't play "your" game we're still happy to hear you talking about how you're doing on it.

ahh it's all about the timing

FV giving me hassle tonight - been trying to harvest some ghost chillies for nearly an hour - keep getting "out of sync", "saving game" - or simply not loading at all - using both farmville.com and FB grrr - was hoping to get another lot in before bed but that's not going to happen now.

FV was ok for me earlier but have got a load of blueberries ready at around 9pm so hope I don't get hassle then iyswim.

Oh well have some grapes ready in an hour or so and have saved most of my honey

oh arse I'm a twat - posted that about the chillies, finally managed to get on and harvest lot there were on there.........and then got half way through planting another 100 when I realised what I was doing.

I'll now be up until 1am to make sure they don't go to waste.

My wheat will be ready in the morning (will get mastery sign), and then I'm going to hammer ghost chillies for a couple of days to get that sign as well - only have 3000 left to do - which at 450 plots x 3 times a day won't take too long

ALFA - LOL I did that with blueberries one day last wk but was in the day and I was out all day but miracoulsly (sp) they were still ok

ALFA, what time are you normally up in the mornings?

you could always get an earlier night in, and then get up by 7am to harvest...

6 hours to harvest means another 6 hours before they start to wither

not usually up until just before 8 - I wouldn't want to risk it with so few of them - a whole field and I might have left them...

LOL 2shoes - I know exactly where you are coming from - I love CL too.

I love that you don't have to plow and you can plant in a completely haphazard fashion and you don't have to watch this mini-me creature plodding backwards and forwards. Sooo much better than FV (and FT, and Island Paradise and Lil Farm Life) for that. And I love the way the animals look at you when you run out of food.

Silverfrog is that definitely the formula - you have same time again to harvest as the crop took to grow? Always seems so much faster than that on FV but since I lose track of time enough to allow crops to wither sometimes I am not surprised I can't work out how long it has all taken!

Niecie - you do know that you can block your farmer in on FV don't you so you don't have to watch them plodding around and everything gets done quicker?

yes, i think it is 'official' - you have as long again as a crop takes ot harvest before it starts to wither.

BUT, I believe a FV 'day' is just over 23 hours (can't remmeber where I read this) and so a 4 hour crop doesn't actually take 4 hours, but a bit less, as it is a percentage (1/6) of 23 hours.

actually I think crops that are less than one day do actually take the "exact" time - crops over less - because of the 23hr day.

right - well I can test it tonight - my ghost chillies should be ready at some time between 12.56 and 1am............ - will try and remember to let you know what time they're actually ready

Seriously, I still think that CL is much quicker and you still don't have that person getting in the way, blocked in or not!

I have noticed that things to mature quicker that others. Wouldn't surprise me if it was more noticeable on the longer crops.

Perhaps we should be scientific and test it out. Do a spreadseet or something.

FishWorld: DD is 6, so anything "pretty" or "pink"
CL: still resisting the urge

the 'what present to give' question has become rather complicated with all these friends! I have however just managed to work out which mn name goes with which FB name for all except one of my neighbours (this was quite a task).

anyway have just managed to expand AGAIN!!! in FV (to the 22x22 so there are no more available yet) and am pretty close to being able to afford the 75K one in CL.

Some cruel person invited me to cafe world and I was foolish enough to look at it, but am not sure I quite get the hang of it yet. any tips?

or have I just confirmed a request from a complete stranger? We don't seem to "share" any friends?

Not bin around much today - still feeling a bit poorly. Extra wd alfa if u managed that with alot going on too! I haven't even managed to send off the form for the course i planned to start in October! Then January. Gotta check next deadline and aim for that!

I can't believe how much quicker it has made farmville by having more friends. It was so frustrating before when I couldn't even buy a cowshed or pond. Since the weekend I have expanded my farm twice and completely upgraded my farm.

Question though - do you tell people in real life that you've got loads of new neighbours by being 'friends' with people from mn?

Medusashead - It's not that I am ashamed of you lovely ladies but I keep very quiet about just how many people on my FB account I don't actually really know because I signed you all up from here! I have more MN friends than I do real ones.

Plus if I admit just how many friends I have from MN then people might work out just how much of my life I spend on here and on FB and that would never do!

Which brings me to another question - does anybody else ever feel tempted to comment on a non-game related matter on a MNer's FB entry? What is the etiquette since we don't actually really know one another? A step too far. I have been tempted to comment then remembered I don't actually know anything about the person I am going to comment on!
