OMG, have just seen a clip of Kylie being interviewed

in Cannes and I can't believe how much botox she's obviously had. I've only seen photos of her in the last few years but watching the brief interview was scary - her face doesn't really move. I always thought that this was once cosmetic procedure I would go for if I had the cash to spare but this has really put me off. Kylie looked rather freaky

I think she's had eyebrow lift(s) too. 41 year-olds just don't look that smooth!

Nicole Kidman's face looks dreadful. It's a shame because she's a good actress, but how can you act with an immobile face?

Stinkermink · 25/05/2009 20:09

Amanda Holden might be upfront, but she doesn't look better or any good for it IMO.

BalloonSlayer · 25/05/2009 22:16

Thanks Sidge.

I don't get it though. Obviously I am not a sex symbol outside my own home but I don't have a lot of actual wrinkles (am nearly 45). But what I do have is sags at the bottom end of my face. Facial exercises would help, could I be arsed to do them every day (when I did the results were fab). But foreheady stuff? I don't understand. Why? At thirtysomething?

mrsmaidamess · 25/05/2009 22:20

Bride of Kyliestein

AitchTwoOh · 25/05/2009 22:24

oh lord i wish i didn't have a big wrinkle across my forehead. it;s MASSIVE.

mrsmaidamess · 25/05/2009 22:37

I thik you have got to have great skin (with or without expression lines) for botox to make a difference. Otherwise you just have immoveable crap skin with no lines. (I mean, open pores, spots and stuff)

mrsmaidamess · 25/05/2009 22:38

Aitch its an expression line not a wrinkle. (Apparently there's a difference, so my botoxed friend tells me)

AitchTwoOh · 25/05/2009 22:41

and my expression is

Poppity · 25/05/2009 22:52

Balloon slayer, did facial exercises really work? What did you do? Did you use a book?

I could do with some of those, I'm noticing more of my expressions look like my mother's every day

MrsMattie · 25/05/2009 22:54

It's the forehead that is freaky. Dani Minogue's is the same. Nicole Kidman's is freaky. So smooth and shiny and unconvincing. Bleurgh.

MaggieBee · 25/05/2009 22:55

Ach, leave her alone, I love her.

MrsMattie · 25/05/2009 23:00

Really? I think she's talentless.

LaDiDaDi · 25/05/2009 23:09

I agree, she just looks weird. I would rather look a bit creased at the corners than alien-like.

Mintyy · 25/05/2009 23:14

I don't have a single wrinkle on my forehead and I'm nearly 47. I just have a few lines under my eyes and they don't show unless I'm smiling. Its genes.

brimfull · 25/05/2009 23:21

could only bring myself to watch about a minute of that sucking up interview

she does look slightly star trekky

izyboy · 25/05/2009 23:22

There's an odd puffiness about Kylie's face now, but that may be due to her previous illness unfortunately.

oxocube · 26/05/2009 07:29

Its strange though that after breast cancer, she would consider cosmetic surgery. My friend had breast cancer years ago and it was only recently she could bear to undergo go reconstructive surgery. She said the whole illness gave her a different perspective on what is beautiful, what is acceptable etc. Or did she have all these procedures before she had cancer?

Poppity this is what I did.

I've got a book, but I see from the website that she has all kinds of different ways of doing it now. There even seems to be something on YouTube.

The exercises were hard to learn and I keep meaning to get the book out again and check that I am doing them right. But when you have learned them you can do them while mumsnetting, sitting on the loo, cooking, IF you remember, which is my problem, I just can't get back into the habit.

You are supposed to do them twice a day (they take about 10 mins). When I did them, I only managed them once a day but when I did them for a sustained period (couple of weeks) I noticed a difference. No-one said to me "Wow, you look great," but whenever I caught an accidental glimpse of myself in the mirror I always thought how well I looked. Whereas normally it's "Oh, hi Mum, wasn't expecting you . . . oh gawd, it's me!"

< Makes resolution to start again >

oxocube · 26/05/2009 10:45

BalloonSlayer, I've just checked her exercises on YouTube. She has SO had plastic surgery - she denies anything except a nose job at 21 but IMOhas had fillers (cheeks), possibly a facelift, lips pumped with collagen. The little fibber

OP posts:
oxocube · 26/05/2009 10:47

She also says you can make your nose smaller by doing her exercises! Mind you, anything non-surgical that helps even a little is worth a try so I'm not really knocking it.

BalloonSlayer · 26/05/2009 12:23

I expect she has, she reminds me of the Joker. However, the cheek exercises really work.

You put an index finger just under each eye on top of the cheekbone. Make a face like this but with the mouth more oval, then smile broadly. Do 50 of those twice a day for two weeks and post back to tell me what you think.

Poppity · 26/05/2009 12:43

Thanks BallonSlayer. It's got to be worth a go- I too see my mum in the mirror......

Sidge · 26/05/2009 14:56

Apparently giving blow jobs are the best thing for giving you a non-surgical face lift...

(I imagine a man originally dreamed up that one but hey, if it works!)

Buda · 26/05/2009 15:47

LOL at that Sidge! Must tell DH!

Am out tonight with my botoxed friend - must tell her!

TsarChasm · 26/05/2009 15:53

I like Kylie but whenever I see her being inteviewed (thinking of a documentary I watched about her once) there doesn't seem to be much actually going on in there. Either that or she keeps it well hidden.
