oh that ad is painful

pigleto · 12/12/2008 16:53

I like the fact that she runs away in a buff pink evening dress and then appears in some borrowed "man clothes" and a pair of little black hot pants. Was she wearing the hot pants under the evening dress or are they his?

BingleJells · 13/12/2008 23:29

She looks like a waxwork shop dummy. Everything about her is different than a few years ago- hair, skin, figure. She looks ice cold and ruthless.

There was a really funny thread about this ad last year. It is gawd awful, she just looks like an alien.

Tinker · 13/12/2008 23:36

izyboy - me too at only just realising that there is a "plot" to this ad. Is this man teh equivalent of Heather "I've never heard of teh Beatles" Mills?

Also, deeply annoying is that other model/perfume ad with Gisele Bundchen for D&G(had to Google all that to check names)

MrsMattie · 15/12/2008 19:14

lolllllll@ this thread.

As others have said, it's the 'I love to dance' bit that is most disturbing. She looks unhinged (and has an odd, screechy voice, like she has been at the gin all arvo).

I also don't get the Charlize Theron perfume ad. Why are you walking through your flat while stripping off? Is your flat very, very hot, or something?

CrushWithEyeliner · 15/12/2008 19:19

I still hate it, The music is beautiful but she so looks like someone has embalmed her (badly)

Guadalupe · 15/12/2008 19:22

The only one I hate more is that putrid Lacost one where the girl in a pink dress leaps up to pluck somehting from the sky in soft focus.

LaVie · 15/12/2008 20:11

she called her dd Sunday Roast. Nuff said.

devoutsceptic · 15/12/2008 20:16

Yes, she looks like an embalmed crazy woman. I cringe whenever it is on. The 'I love to dance' bit is slightly frightening. "er, right....that's, um....lovely..." (back away slowly)

CrushWithEyeliner · 15/12/2008 21:06

He looks relieved when she buggers off back to her movie star world. He just likes the perfume end of.

BitOfFunUnderTheMistletoe · 15/12/2008 21:14

I don't understand why she pronounces "dancer" in the toffy English way, "darncer", and in the same line says she likes to "diince", like she's a New York cabbie or something....make your mind up Nicole, are you meant to be English or American?

snigger · 15/12/2008 21:17

Lol at this thread.

Ewan McGregor's another one :

I'm a manly lumberjack biker man, me, and as I stand at the source of the Nile plucking ticks from me festering pits, I recall that dainty glass bottle I've been hefting half-way round the world - not whisky, but Man Scent.

More feck off than Davidoff .....

jojosmaman · 15/12/2008 21:21

Oh I hate all perfume/ aftershave adverts, who decided that they all had to be utter nonsense? Can anyone name a good one (apart from the Davidoff Blue one from last year )? There is a stand up, Lee Mack i think, who mocks one saying something like (in a french accent) "I am alive.. but I am dead, I am a man.. but I am a woman, I talk, but I don't talk, I am a dog, but I am a cat" and other such random phrases and now whenever I hear a perfume add I think of this, its so true, just nonsense!

snigger · 15/12/2008 21:23

There's a parody of the Ewan McGregor one here.

Gingerbear · 15/12/2008 21:27

snigger - Roffle.

ScottishMummy · 15/12/2008 21:29

hate the ad her pseudo-ethereal guff and the cheestastic "i vant to dahnce" i want tae boak

Tinker · 15/12/2008 23:55

There was a dreamy Lacoste ad a few years ago with a very dreamy man on it - will find link. That would be on at every ad break if I ruled the world

Tinker · 15/12/2008 23:57

Oh god, he is not QUITE as dreamy as I remember

MintChocAddict · 16/12/2008 00:19

I agree she looks a bit scary in the advert but love the music. It was our signing the register music and always reminds me of my wedding day.
Don't all bleurgghhh at once now!

RamblingRosa · 16/12/2008 09:54

I think I actually kind of like this ad . All of the Chanel No5 ads have been OTT and silly. The bloke on the ad is seriously fit. It's not Olivier Martinez is it?
I agree Nicole's had some work done. In recent pics I've especially noticed her lips looking much fuller than they used to.
DP and I were saying what a good gig that ad must have been for her. She must have got paid handsomly for it and there are some beautiful iconic images of her in it (like the red carpet scene with the Chanel pendant down her back) which can't be bad for her career (or her ego)!

HarleyQuinn · 16/12/2008 11:38

Rambling Rosa, I believe its Rodrigo Santoro

www.imdb.com/name/nm0763928/

RamblingRosa · 16/12/2008 11:49

Ah, I think I'm in love . Thanks for that Harley fgrin I notice on his biog that he's in that new Che Guevara film which also stars Benicio del Toro who I'm also deeply in love with. Must go to see that film (minus DP).

HarleyQuinn · 16/12/2008 11:58

Thats alright RR enjoy
