ah yes [memories]

beanieb · 29/09/2008 18:04

Hang on - so she's not 'allowed' to say what loads of other 'normal' women say. Because she is famous and you have some weird irrational dislike of either her personally or women in the public eye in general? How frigging sad are you!?

NotCod · 29/09/2008 18:05

because she has the money to not be so tired

she chooses to work - no financial imperative
lady you tired? Take a break!

OhFarkIt · 29/09/2008 18:05

' survive on four hours sleep' - hardly can be classed as a survival situation.

hapsty · 29/09/2008 18:06

no she can say what she likes, of course.
I just reserve the right to think she is a bit of a twat for saying it.
and think she should get a proper job

Dropdeadfred · 29/09/2008 18:06

but she may not always be so 'famous'
and in demand and therefore she needs to make her money now

DarrellRivers · 29/09/2008 18:07

Don't dislike her actually
But hate slebs who have a baby and that then becomes part of their business, so baby classical music, lose baby weight the myleene way etc etc etc
Geri spice halliwell is the other example, Bluebell spreads in Hello, and suddenly she's writing children's books

BitOfFun · 29/09/2008 18:33

I agree with dropdeadfred (and Darrell re: celebs being baby experts), but I think if she is really knackered, then six months or a year off in her situation would probably be fine. Say, just do the M&S ads to keep the money ticking over, but leave all the TV work? I think it's better to save your sanity and health over thinking your schnoz on the box is imperative for survival. Good luck to her.

CrushWithEyeliner · 29/09/2008 18:45

didn't she say "I don't do nannies I have a Mother". Also on the same gmtv interview "I want to fill the house with them I just LOVE babies" 4 weeks after giving birth.

She just shifts her attitude to make the most money. She is SO fake.

cyteen · 29/09/2008 18:53

To be fair, though, I've found that since having DS my attitude shifts in similar fashion about 50 times a day

Oh he is so lovely, let's have a million more like him!

(10 minutes later) Fuck sake why are you screaming, what do you want dammit!

(10 minutes after that) Mmm, I'm enjoying this cup of tea and cream cake, although have a nagging feeling I've forgotten something...wait a minute, there's a small human attached to my left breast, how did that get there?

And so on

This fecking "conspiracy" stuff does my nut in.

It plays straight into the Daily Mail's hands.

There is no conspiracy. Those of us who live in the real world admit we're tired, admit we can't cope, help each other, laugh together.

Stop the conspiracy madness!

There is no conspiracy - we all know the first year is shit sleepwise, then just as you get fractionally more sleep at about 18 motnhs you have the bright idea to have another one...

beanieb · 29/09/2008 19:08

maybe she loves her job and would be less tired but bored shitless if she gave it up?

Bumperlicious · 29/09/2008 19:31

Like everyone else said, fair play, have a moan, it is hard work, but if you are going to moan to the press about it you put yourself out there for recrimination.

Plus she gets to make a shed load of money out of a book on the experience, not because she is a talented writer, or because we all will be better off from her advice, no, because she is a sleb. God the amount of crap I have written on here I should get a frigging book deal but I haven't because I am not funny a sleb

GreenMonkies · 29/09/2008 19:43

I have no patience with stinking rich slebs who go back to work withing a matter of months of giving birth, and the moan about being tired. Seriously, if I had that much money in the bank (or a DP who earns that much) I'd go back to work once they were in pre-school, and not before!!

I've not slept for more than 5 hours in one go for 5 years, (yes, thats right, 5 fucking years,) and I still manage to run a house, cook food, wash clothes, hold down a (physically and emotionally) demanding job and I only have a bloke and a cleaner who does two hours every other week as help. And we all know how much help men really are!

She can shut the fuck up and live my life for a week, then she'd know what tired is!! Not forgetting that I'm 10 years older than her.

kalo12 · 29/09/2008 19:48

the problem is she's not a giver, she's greedy and she has no self awareness, and she's on absolutely everything! I mean fgs does she not think its degrading to do all those adverts and promos and tv shows and books telling you stuff everyone already knows. Its obscene to be wanting so much attention, yet playing at being unassuming and modest.

beanieb · 29/09/2008 19:50

she's greedy? WTF! who is she 'supposed' to be giving to?

ImnotMamaGbutsheLovesMe · 29/09/2008 19:52

Wow! One whole day together.

domesticslattern · 29/09/2008 19:58

BitofFun- that's my baby she's posing with! (not the naked one, one of the other ones). In News of the World mag this Sunday. DD not a professional model, we were just helping friend of a friend who wanted as many babies as possible at the shoot.

I can report that Myleene very nice and polite and said nice things about DD. Actually I quite warmed to her, and I do think it is better to say that having a baby is tiring than these people you see in OK who witter on about how their life with DCs is absolutely nonstop perfect.

I can also report that she is exceptionally svelte and the bit that really irked me was her saying that she never did any exercise and that life was too short for dieting. My arse Myleene, my arse. Her career rests on looking thin, and she's very good at it.

Also the clothing range is vile but that's another thread...

Bumperlicious · 29/09/2008 19:59

Just actually read the piece.

STOP PRESS: New mum only getting 4 hours sleep at night! What a shocker!

It's not a conspiracy, I'll happily tell anyone who listen that I'm not coping very well!

MrsBates · 29/09/2008 20:02

Margaret Thatcher only had 4 hours sleep a night and she was a very well balanced, smartly dressed lady who got up in time to arrange her hair in that wonderful bouffant style. She also has two lovely children with interesting careers. Who needs more sleep?

MrsBates - I too remember reading about Margaret Thatcher and the 4 hours sleep a night thing, but I only recently read that she forgot to mention she also had an afternoon nap to compensate

Hulababy · 29/09/2008 20:15

Baby is 13 months old or so I think isn't she?

Mind you DD didn't sleep through the night till she was 20 months - so can understand why some mums of 1 year olds do only get 4 hours sleep a night - sadly I remember the lengthy sleep deprivation Sadly I wasn't rich enough to have the priveldge of taking a break.
