Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, with boy cat - he's very affectionate this morning! I've brought my tablets with me to sort for the week & put the washer on for a load of darks.

My plan of attack is to sit with my crochet for an hour, then take down and put away the Halloween decorations & tidy the kitchen which is a bit of a mess.

When that's done, I'll finish glossing the bannisters and stairs, and maybe start on the kitchen door. Although I think I'll run out of paint before I get to the door, so will need a trip to B&Q at some point this week so I can get the living room finished before the Christmas decorations go up. At this point that's seeming less and less likely to happen!

Dd2's half way through her essay so will maybe finish that off - she hasn't been down yet so I haven't asked. & dd1 got in just before 6am so I won't hear from her for ages yet!

This evening, it's roast chicken for tea, then an early shower, sort my work bag, and either more crafting or finish my book for me. Then an early night ready for back to work, for my favourite half term, tomorrow morning 💤.

What about you? 🙂

Good morning, the foggy start has cleared and the sun’s out. DH has just left for the village and a walk with bigger dog, Tiddler’s grumbling because she’s had her walk but wants to go again.
There’s pork and mushroom stroganoff in the slow cooker, we’ll have it with mash and green beans, apple pie and custard for pud.
I’ve cleaned the front window in the living room, smeary windows make my teeth itch but I’ve yet to find the perfect cleaner for windows. I’m trying the Method mint one today.
I don’t actually have anything else much going on here, I have a very quiet, mundane life 😁
I hope today goes well for everyone, I’ll read back through the thread now and catch up on your news!

@Berlinlover I'm so sorry about the chemo, that's rubbish.

@Simonjt it doesn't stop when the kids get older either - mine are almost 20 & almost 17, and still come sit in the bathroom to talk while I shower!

Morning all!
I'm just getting the bacon on for some bagels - slow start today. Coffee next! Then see if I can drag ds out for a walk as the weather is lovely. The house is a moderate riot and we have a fairly large to do list so most of the afternoon will be given over to adulting, dully.
Dinner - not sure. Either butternut squash soup or a Belarusian mushroom stew. Apple tart for afters either way. Have a lovely day, everyone, and healing thoughts to those who need them.

Good mor everyone

@Berlinlover Sorry to hear your news but have a lovely Christmas.

@Rowgtfc72 Get the tickets. Some friends saw him recently and posted a video. His voice is still amazing.

I’ve had a cup of tea and put washing on and stripped the bed. Dogs about to go for a walk then I’ll do some bacon rolls. Have some work getting done on the house and I must buckle down on my essay. I was up and down to the door last night for guisers. Was good fun but I did no work!

So that’s the plan for today plus shopping and uniform and work clothes sorting.

Id like a few chapters of my book done too.

Enjoy your Sunday guys.

Cleaned bathrooms and been tonlocal shops for a few items. Just having coffee.

When DH gets back from the gym we'll decide if we want to go out. I fancy a woodland walk. If not, I've got three minor jobs, will do some weights and lots of reading. DH will do art. Knowing us, we'll play a short game later.

daffodilandtulip · 01/11/2026 10:55

Morning all, it’s a sunny autumn day here and I’ve enjoyed a peaceful dog walk, after only waking at 9am. I don’t sleep well but I have these rare crash days now and again, and love them!

Son was on holiday for half term with extended family and got delayed home yesterday so I was a bit sad and stressed yesterday. He should be arriving at some point this afternoon so I’m going to prep his fave chorizo bake.

I started a new embroidery yesterday and a new book on Friday, so I think that’s my plan for the day! I’ve also enjoyed reading the seasonal almanac for the last couple of years, so will read November’s shortly.

thebeautifulsky · 01/11/2026 11:10

Morning all, sat in the kitchen with my 2nd coffee of the day thinking about the week ahead. Another busy one. I've been up and down the hills already this morning. Cough still lingering from the recent cold but I'm getting on with things as usual. Family coming over for lunch soon followed by games by the fire. It's very cold out there today but so beautiful with the colours of autumn so we may go for a stroll around the Village.

DH out in the garden doing his thing. I've just taken him a mug of coffee and a biscuit.

A nice relaxing evening with leftovers and TV.

Missed the morning by minutes.
Happy Sunday everyone
Sorry about your chemo @Berlinlover but as you say a couple of months hopefully feeling better will be good 😍
DS is coming home for reading week today, so I'm waiting for my Morrisons order, while catching up on Strictly. Need to have sufficient food and treats for a permanently hungry 18yo.
Dropped my mum at church, popped into our small town for cards and a few bits for her birthday tomorrow, as yesterday's shopping trip was postponed. Need to pick her up at 1.
Making pulled pork and trimmings for tea so need to get that on at some point soon.
Looking forward to a catch up with DS, but he is probably looking forward to football manager on his PC.
F1 at 8pm and then bed, ready for Monday.

Veraandacupoftea · 01/11/2026 12:16

We have been to the farm shop , got a washload on and I got my booktok videos up (made £400 last week which is half of what I need for Christmas 🎄)

husband is stripping the hall wallpaper and I have been sanding down the skirting , but have given up of a tea break 🤭

this afternoon is make two teas (today’s and tomorrow’s) clean kitchen , every one shower and sort bags out for back to school and take dd back to uni .

not looking forward to back to work tomorrow- it’s a long time until Christmas holidays!

Echobelly · 01/11/2026 12:17

Having a quiet one after a very busy few weeks in between another busy few weekends.

Yesterday went to synagogue, went to the gym later for the first time in about 6 weeks as I seem to be finally recovering from a muscle strain. Hosted son's friends for Halloween stuff, film and pizza last night, which was pretty hectic although at least as they are all 15/16 there's not too much organising to be done.

Today I've done the supermarket shop and I'm probably going to book one or two exhibitions we want to see in Paris for when DH takes me there for the weekend in a fortnight.

CalledNeededYoga · 01/11/2026 13:24

The weather is so lovely, but I’m feeling a bit rubbish. Lying on the sofa and watching re-runs of ER. Feel like I’m missing out on a good day for doing outdoor jobs.

@TheCabbageMerchantI need to dye my hair too! I’ll probably do that when I’m back home tomorrow.

lucysmam · 01/11/2026 14:56

Hope you're all having a good day so far!

I've sat down for a break - my shoulder's starting to ache but! the hallway's <this> close to done! Just the door to do, and drawers. I've got chalk paint for the drawers, and my dad's taking me for a new tin of gloss tomorrow after work. Hopefully Vinted will serve me well and have 3 new handles (or maybe 6 smaller ones 🤔) for the drawers then I can get that finished off & BIG cleaned this weekend!

Next up, a glass of wine and maybe some more crochet, while the paint dries and oven heats up for tea.

Simonjt · 01/11/2026 15:39

Glossing is the devils work, maybe a pint of glass is in order?

lucysmam · 01/11/2026 17:20

Yikes @Simonjt that's extreme! 🤣 I'll take the glass (or two) of zinfandel 🍷.

I got the hallway done, and the square bits in the door, and the edge of another door, before I called it a day & decided the tin had had it! One living room job a day for the next fortnight ish, & downstairs will be done before Christmas...ignoring any and all other tasks along the way 🤔.
