Good Morning Everyone! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, with boy cat - he's very affectionate this morning! I've brought my tablets with me to sort for the week & put the washer on for a load of darks.

My plan of attack is to sit with my crochet for an hour, then take down and put away the Halloween decorations & tidy the kitchen which is a bit of a mess.

When that's done, I'll finish glossing the bannisters and stairs, and maybe start on the kitchen door. Although I think I'll run out of paint before I get to the door, so will need a trip to B&Q at some point this week so I can get the living room finished before the Christmas decorations go up. At this point that's seeming less and less likely to happen!

Dd2's half way through her essay so will maybe finish that off - she hasn't been down yet so I haven't asked. & dd1 got in just before 6am so I won't hear from her for ages yet!

This evening, it's roast chicken for tea, then an early shower, sort my work bag, and either more crafting or finish my book for me. Then an early night ready for back to work, for my favourite half term, tomorrow morning 💤.

What about you? 🙂

Currently lying in bed with a cup of tea.

Tidy up Halloween, then off to football with my youngest, followed by the supermarket.

Going to cook a roast dinner and in between that there will be some tidying, laundry, homework before tomorrow and maybe a walk to the pub before dinner. Was out last night so I will watch Strictly while I prep dinner.

Tonight, I will dye my hair and then will sit on the sofa in my PJs and write my Christmas shopping lists as now Halloween & Bonfire Night (peaked early) is over I need to get my ass into gear.

Bringyourfoldingchair · 01/11/2026 09:22

Good morning! I’ve been down and made coffee and brought it up to bed. I took some of the Halloween decorations down en route. DS12 had a friend stay over last night and I could hear them after 2am so they’re still sleeping now I assume.
We have a click and collect to get at 10.30 so will down that and bring the friend home then too. Today we have to head down to our caravan to lock it up for the winter. Hopefully I won’t take too long. I’ll clean the house before we go so we aren’t coming home to a mess and can cosy in for the night. DH has just suggested stopping for a pub lunch on the way home which I quite fancy.
Home for baths/showers all round tonight before everyone returns to school and work in the morning.
Have a lovely Sunday all!

Apotofrealcoffee · 01/11/2026 09:25

Enjoy! We’ve just taken down the Halloween decorations. We will head to the beach shortly to blow away the cobwebs (dog desperately needs a good walk), then I need to stop at the supermarket then it will be back home for roast chicken dinner.

Only slept 4 hours last night so plan to be in bed very early.

chickenfordinner · 01/11/2026 09:30

Morning all! Am sat on the sofa with a cuppa while the pup tries to destroy her toys (better than 5 minutes ago when she was trying to destroy us 😀). She slept till 6 though so that’s a good night. DD13 also had a friend to stay after trick or treating but I was mean and made them be quiet from midnight so we could get some sleep, think they’re still asleep now. Today will make gf waffles for the girls and then get the dog out for a walk somewhere, then home to ironing school shirts and meatballs from the freezer. DH is going see ghosts at the cinema - we saw it last week and really enjoyed it.

Have a lovely day everyone and thanks @lucysmamfor these threads, is the nicest way to start the weekend

Insaneinthemembranesweep · 01/11/2026 09:32

We live abroad so already early afternoon here! Have been for a lovely swim with the kids, took down Halloween decs, done lunch and homework. Going for a potter around some home shops for DH and I then for Nando’s and ice cream for the kids. textbook Sunday!

BitOutOfPractice · 01/11/2026 09:35

Good morning @lucysmam and fellow weekenders.

I’m visiting mom at her nursing home again today. My dd1 and her fiancé are coming this afternoon which takes the pressure off me a bit. I can get off earlier to drive home. It took 6.5 hours on Friday. I hope it’s more like the usual 3 today. Pray to the gods of the motorway for me!

DP is cooking roast chicken tonight with all the trimmings. I can’t wait!

JingsMahBucket · 01/11/2026 09:37

Morning everyone! We’re both still in bed keeping warm and cozy but I’ll get up soon to eat something. We initially planned to attend the monthly farmers market today but decided to stay home and rest. There’s cleaning and laundry to do, some admin and decluttering before the week starts. I need to post photos on Instagram about an art exhibition opening yesterday to draw more people in.

I also need to do a brain dump and plan my week. There’s a lot floating around my head and tiny projects to clear out since I may be starting another big project soon.

In between those I’ll be making chicken stock then minestrone soup for dinner. Hopefully I can get a bit of reading and iPad game playing in too. Talk about a full Sunday. Have a lovely and joyful Sunday everyone!

iloveanearlynight · 01/11/2026 09:38

Been at work since 5am.

Topsy44 · 01/11/2026 09:41

Good morning Lucysmam and All

Was up early for a Sunday despite going to bed late for me. Had 2 big mugs of tea, toast and a chocolate brioche while double scrolling under my new heated blanket with elderly gentleman cat.

Have mentioned to DD that we should go out for a walk later (she is currently using the excuse that she can’t get all of her Halloween make up off), will probably have to bribe with the promise of a hot chocolate afterwards although we both scoffed far too many sweets/chocolates last night as didn’t have as many trick or treaters as expected.

I did cross off quite a few chores yesterday so might just get some mini ones done today such as clearing mantelpiece (always seems to be a dumping ground for paper and bits & pieces) and have a similar surface at the back of my kitchen!

Will have left over spag Bol for tea while watching Strictly results. DD has an inset day tomorrow and I also have a day off so am hoping DD might actually get some of her homework done today (I live in hope!!) so we can do something outside tomorrow.

Pinkyandbooboo · 01/11/2026 09:41

I blitzed the house yesterday, need to do some washing today. Will exercise in some form, see elderly parents and have a beef roast later. This is my perfect Sunday.

Rowgtfc72 · 01/11/2026 09:41

Morning!
Two coffees and a bacon bun in already.
Washed the pots and first wash load done.
Planning a lazy afternoon with a dog walk.
Going to help dd pack her case for a week in the middle of nowhere with her boyfriend.
Also mulling over Paul Heaton tickets at Lincon Castle. Desperate to go.

Have a good weekend.

Out of utter nosiness, can I ask where you live ( roughly) please?

Berlinlover · 01/11/2026 09:45

Morning everyone. I’m still in bed but will be getting up in the next 20 minutes. I’ll have porridge for breakfast and will be working from midday to 6pm in my retail job. I found out on Thursday that my chemo isn’t working and my tumours are growing, I’ll be starting a new chemo in January. While it’s disappointing that the chemo is not working I’m glad that I can enjoy the time between now and January and not be sick from chemo.

BitOutOfPractice · 01/11/2026 09:46

@Berlinlover I’m sorry to hear that. Good luck with the new treatment.

Dubai! Let me live 🙏🏼 😅

MingingRunnersFeet · 01/11/2026 09:49

DP brought me coffee in bed. When I eventually drag my arse out of bed I need to start getting ready for work. I rarely lie in as I’m an early bird (very early!) so it’s unusual for me to still be here at this time!

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 01/11/2026 09:49

Good morning lucysmam and others. I've had 2 coffees and a bowl of porridge. I have moved some Halloween decorations ready to put them all away. Today I will make a pot of lentil soup and egg muffins. That will be breakfasts and lunches for the next few days. My gallbladder is bothering me this weekend so I won't do much else. Enjoy your day

DilemmaDelilah · 01/11/2026 09:52

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. I didn't post yesterday as I have had Houdini and his mummy here and things were all a bit hectic! They left first thing this morning so I'm planning on doing absolutely NOTHING at all, except maybe some crafting. Mr Dilemma is exhausted and is planning on going back to bed and sleeping all morning. He went out trick or treating with them yesterday evening while I got our evening meal ready. I did (very simple, because he's not 5 until January) cooking with Houdini yesterday morning. Quiche, which we had for lunch, made with ready rolled pastry, and a plain (but delicious) chocolate cake, made with a mix, that we had for pudding yesterday evening.

There's a little bit of quiche left which I will have for lunch with some salad, because I was very sick before lunch yesterday and didn't eat any (not ill... just meds). Mr Dilemma will have leftover pizza. This evening I'm planning on eating up stuff out of the fridge... but I'm pretty sure Mr Dilemma will suggest a takeaway, to which I will not object.

DD2 (Houdini's mummy) liked my felt decorations and took several home with her, plus some for her friends' Christmas presents, so I was pleased about that. I had made her and Houdini beaded and embroidered Christmas stockings and offered to made one for Houdini's daddy, which was accepted. I managed to finish that by yesterday afternoon so she could take that with her too. I'm going to make some more felt bells I think, I can't remember which one of you suggested those but it was a great idea... thank you very much! These ones will be Scandinavian folk art style - I have some narrow ecru cotton lace and some cotton ribbon which will go very nicely with that, and they will look great on red felt I think. After that - more felt Christmas trees. Houston's mummy really liked those and I enjoy making them. When I (eventually, I hope) shuffle off this mortal coil, a massive stash will be found which will need to be got rid of - but I'm doing them while I can - before the cataracts make it impossible for me to do that kind of thing any more.

Have a WONDERFUL day everybody - or at least the best day possible.

Heyhelga · 01/11/2026 09:53

No Sunday morning football for my DS so I've enjoyed a nice lay in this morning. No real plans to go anyway. Looks gloomy and miserable outside anyway. Linen baskets need catching up on so gonna be a bit of a laundry day I think. Oh and fresh bedding. Otherwise ds is still in bed and dh is making breakfast.

DilemmaDelilah · 01/11/2026 09:59

@Berlinlover that's total pants! What utter rubbish that is for you. I think I know a little how you feel - I had to stop my chemo after just one cycle as it made me so ill - but it is certainly a bonus that you get a rest from it until after Christmas.

New Year, new start. I hope all goes well for you. I was diagnosed in May 2023 and am currently NED despite not being able to complete chemo. Fingers (and everything else) crossed for you.

canisquaeso · 01/11/2026 10:06

Had Chinese leftovers for breakfast (in bed! Alone!!! No one nearby to judge me!!!!), now about to shower, get some laundry done, go into town to get my nails done because there’s finally a place that opens on Sundays and then come back home.

I’m thinking of making a stew for dinner and maybe some soup to take into work.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 01/11/2026 10:08

Morning all!

Have put on a wash and about to put it in the dryer. Or do I mean drier?

Anyway, I'm in the mood for ironing today so once I've finished my second cup of tea, I'll be making a start on that. If nothing else it will be useful to work out what clothes I have (I have waaaay too many). Planning to donate some of the "good as new" stuff to a local lady who sells to raise money for the local food bank.

Have a good day everyone!

Judgejudysno1fan · 01/11/2026 10:09

Getting everything ready for back to school after a lovely half term week off. Ive got a lovely roast planned and ice cream and cake 🎂 for after woohoo

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 01/11/2026 10:18

Morning everyone! I always read these threads with a sort of shame as I’m normally still in my pjs when everyone else is up and doing stuff 😁. Nothing wrong with either. Today though I was at the tip at 8.10 with the recycling (not had it collected here for around 18 months). Washer on and about to make my second coffee of the day. Was away last week in krakow and had some early starts. In the office tomorrow so trying to get ready for the week and plan to have a chilled afternoon finishing my book. Have a good day x

Simonjt · 01/11/2026 10:20

Good morning, we tried to have a peaceful bath this morning but we were joined by a cat, a four year old and an eleven year old who needed to have an argument about lego, so that was ruined.

We’re behind on washing so we need to get a few loads done today otherwise we’ll all be in very interesting outfits during the week.

We’re going to the cinema to see Wildwood after lunch, so we’ll likely be bankrupt buying a bucket of popcorn.

Have a nice sunday
