Just happened.....speaking to a lovely guy in the office, mid pleasant chat, when yours truly lets out a loud (and unexpected, by both of us) fart........ (a la Jackson Lamb for those that know......) lovely guy in office pink and rather surprised (to put it mildly), me scarlet and gabbling.......... anyone else done anything similar, please make feel better.....(just told 24 year old daughter on facetime, who is now howling with laughter 😆)... as dp will be, when I tell him later. I'm just trying to hide behind my computer....

At least you have the decency to feel embarrassed, I’ve started to not even care if I do the occasional public fart. It’s impossible to avoid so I’m just owning it at this point.

I remember when I was really young and had a job as an office junior, I’d been out the night before and was very hung over and my boss came in and I was busy vomitting into the bin 🤣

Same. I had full control of my farts until pregnancy, My child is now eight and unfortunately I've still not regained full control of them. Obviously, I do my best to hold them at bay until an appropriate moment, but if one slips through all you can do is apologise and own it.

Too late now, but next time, look around with surprised and puzzled expression and say "Did you just hear that?"

It is one of the things I am looking forward to most about ageing. Either my control will go, my sense of smell, or my hearing, either of which will be fine as I can just carry on as if nothing happened.

This happened to me, in a fashion; I was in the corner shop, chatting to the owner's boyfriend about our respective dogs, I made a witty quip, turned on my heel to leave, and farted. Not loud, but it was audible. I sniggered all the way home, told my DH who also thought it was hilarious. Maybe we're just both immature, but it kept us entertained 😆😆

This happened to me at home about 20 years ago when all my cousins and aunts were round. I saw my cousin's eyes widen and she was about to scream with laughter, but I just kept a totally straight face and carried on talking as if nothing had happened.
