Your earliest pregnancy symptoms?

I'm sure that I'm pregnant! I'm scared to take a test though as sometimes my periods are a little late, and I really don't want to get my hopes up.
However, I've been noticing a couple things over the last week or so that are making me question things a bit!

  1. I am SO tired. I slept 14 hours the other day.
  2. My breasts are definitely rounder and feel heavier?? Partner has also noticed this!
  3. Waking up to pee. I never ever wake up before my alarm because I need to pee. It's happened almost every morning this week.
  4. No pre-period cravings or mood swing, a day or two before I get my period, every time, I get randomly very emotional over little things (tiktok videos!).
  5. Perhaps weirdest, and likely unrelated, I keep randomly getting butterfly's in my stomach.

I also just 'have a feeling', but of course I could be entirely wrong.
My last period started September 23rd.

Before I tested it was noticeable veins on my boobs, that I didn’t usually have (they did go away after pregnancy). So second time around, I just knew I was pregnant after seeing these, and I was!

They've been delivered, I'll do it tomorrow morning.
I feel like my period is going to come tomorrow, just to surprise me!

This is funny as my earliest symptoms have been butterflies with all 3 pregnancies. I never see it listed as a symptom because I suppose it can easily be explained away by anxiety/excitement. I’d take a test if I were you. It’s very early to get any of the other symptoms you mentioned but sometimes the ‘feeling’ is all you have.

This!

all three of mine I just knew and it was through butterflies, all various dates. First one I’d done a test which was negative 24 hours later after a feeling it was positive. The 2nd I knew and tested even before any scan showed anything, they even said they couldn’t date. Number 3 the same feeling, I was walking around Asda, got the feeling, did the test and called hubby as I was shopping 😜

I’m sorry. Maybe the next cycle is the one. How long have you been trying?

Onemoretimeonly · 26/10/2026 06:51

So sorry OP, thanks for starting the thread, it has been really interesting to see how different people’s bodies are. Hope you get that positive you are waiting for. ❤️

Horrendous metallic taste with all pregnancies that was all

Don’t be too deflated, there’s still time. From my experience some tests really don’t show up early, or even when your period is due. The first test I took it looked negative but I just had a feeling so went to get a clear blue and had a strong positive, even my second and third pregnancy the same. Some just can’t pick up as well as others, give it a few days and retry x

Sorry to read that. Good luck.

My heart rate was significantly increased right at the start of pregnancy, before I had even tested. At around 5 weeks I was with the GP and they kept checking it and checking it and wanted to send me to hospital...it calmed down enough in the surgery when I was at rest for them to heed my pleas and let me go home, whereupon it came back, even when resting. Inexplicably even though it was my first pregnancy I just knew it was 'normal' and so didn't report it again. It calmed down around 12 weeks with DS I think.

The second time I woke around 10 DPO (fertility treatment so we knew exactly when conception had occurred) and my heart rate was through the roof again. I remember laying in bed with my eyes still closed and just knowing I was pregnant. I rang the clinic and told them even though I hadn't tested. My chances of successful conception were statistically incredibly slim for various reasons and this was the first month of trying. They didn't believe me and asked me to test on the specified day. I said "I'll go along with it but I'm telling you I'm pregnant." That was indeed DD.

Strange as it sounds, it was a very particular form of increased heart rate. Indescribable. I've had Tachycardia and Myocarditis in the 20 years since but this specific feeling of raised heart rate I only had those two times, and I've never been pregnant any other time (lesbian, so absolutely no possibly of any other missed pregnancies!)
