Someone get Laura Brand (Gallacher) on a cult deprogramming course?

The videos Russell Brand is posting with his wife as a prop, discussing his rape trial, are absolutely mental and very sad. She is locked in orbit of a shapeshifting narcissist. She doesn’t seem to be thinking about herself or her children. Will she ever break out of his spell? If he is sent to prison will it deepen her true believer status or will she finally begin to feel freedom? It is so sad to watch. I wonder if people around her have tried to help her free herself?

He’s utterly deranged. I feel very sorry for their children.

m00ngirl · 18/10/2026 22:12

Me too. Don’t her family?

I just saw some of his "Sunday Service" video from yesterday. My jaw is on the floor...

userpere9083 · 19/10/2026 15:13

They first dated when she was 19 and he was 30 so I wouldn't hold your breath. The Sunday Service video throughout it she is nodding and mumbling uh-huh (affirmative) and yes. It's like she is locked into agreement mode.

It is sad to read of someone who has low self esteem or I would put it, a form of mental ill-health.

m00ngirl · 19/10/2026 20:36

The Sunday Service video is honestly chilling. Where are her family?! I know how hard it can be to deprogram from a narcissist. But there will be little sparks of clarity she will have and she will bury them. It’s so sad to watch. I hope people around her help her. I hope she also knows there is life after the Brand Bunker. She is not him, she will not be blamed for his crimes, she will be welcomed into a wider warmer world by normal people. God it’s so sad to watch.

Hopefully he gets a decent sentence and she gets liberated and enlightened.

m00ngirl · 19/10/2026 21:11

I hope so but he’s set himself up as a martyr, and has claimed “they” (?!) are attacking him because he is such a powerful voice against the system (EYE ROLL) and is also saying “we” with her when talking about the trial. So a sentence might intensify her defence of him. But can you imagine taking your young children to visit daddy in prison whilst he serves a rape sentence…?! I mean…. Fucking hell…. I think the only people who can save her are people very close to her. Isn’t that often how people escape narcissists or cults? If she leaves she will feel her world collapse. Her identity is now him. Her money is his. Her children are his. Some of them are old enough to understand what’s going on (eldest is 10). Her, now deeply felt, religion is his. The internet is full of videos and photos of her defending him against more rape allegations than anyone can count (note he’s rolled her out SINCE the allegations, she wasn’t to be seen before). If she breaks free, that is a big old fall… what she won’t realise now is that once she gets through the pain barrier it will be the best she has ever felt in her life. But she needs something or someone to help her mentally start to break free. Poor woman.

Sadly I would imagine she's past helping. Her family must be worried sick unless he's also brainwashed them into his beliefs.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 19/10/2026 21:22

Why the assumption she is an innocent victim? She chose to marry a man who openly claimed to be a sex addict who was known to be promiscuous to the extreme. I don't like when it's presumed that women are too stupid to know their own minds. Why is she the presumed vulnerable or mentally ill one and not him? (Not defending him btw)

userpere9083 · 20/10/2026 14:26

I didn't know that he'd written a children's book. This woman's review of it showing pages from the book is quite an eye opener.Don't think much of this is very child friendly.

Darkershadeofpink · 20/10/2026 16:47

The religion is one massive cover. When you’re on it you don’t see how bad it really is. Until there’s some sort of separation and headspace from it. From him. I would hope the future for her is one of plenty of support, for her sake but also that of the children. You don’t need pots of money and big houses and to save him. She cannot do that. The scales need to fall from her eyes. Personally I am concerned shes raised her eyes and shown expressions in court.

m00ngirl · 20/10/2026 23:28

Yes me too… I read today about her facial expressions in court. Seemingly disbelieving of the victims rather than disgusted by her husband. And she was taking notes in a little black book!! She’s so deep in it. Maybe beyond help?

Did any of you watch Trust Me - The False Prophet on Netflix? The most devoted of the Mormon wives/victims does eventually break free. It took a police intervention to trigger it.

The police turning up in Brand’s case has just deepened the cult though, if you ask me… Laura is DEEP in it!

I watched a bit of their religious video from this week (I thought they had to lie low if in court). Laura makes these weird agreeing noises to all he says. She should not be there IMO if she’s detracting from or affecting the women’s testimonies. They both seemed to be deep in denial on the video about how serious this is and how it’s affected many lives. I am really surprised at this being allowed. Even she is talking about outfits and court. She has been brainwashed by him.

Oh my GOD never seen that before…. Gross!!! Definitely something deeply and irrevocably wrong with the bloke

Yes I totally couldn’t believe that. Like most of us might say something like “I wore a nice outfit when my husband took me for dinner last week”, not “I wore a nice outfit when my husband took me to his multiple rape trial last week”. Bad enough to say it in private but to film it and then put that on all your social media pages is deranged. She’s thoroughly brainwashed.

Isn't her sister someone famous, kirsty gallacher

SquirrelSoShiny · 21/10/2026 08:53

I look at her with an odd mixture of pity and contempt but yes, seeing her as a cult victim makes it easier to understand.

Tsubasa1 · 21/10/2026 09:19

Im struggling to see her as a victim in this situation. Like PPs have said, shes an adult and knows her own mind. She didnt grow up a cult or brainwashed so presumably had a mind of her own when she got with him.

DeanGaffneysPenisBeaker · 21/10/2026 13:45

I was feeling sorry for her at first, but her behaviour during the trial has been awful and it's hard to see her as a victim. She's been laughing, smiling and pulling faces during the testimonies from the victims

UKPres · 21/10/2026 13:55

She was very young when they got together so maybe some grooming involved, but very often women are the worst when it comes to disbelieving other women's claims against men, any men let alone those that have groomed and married them.

Is it true her father is a high ranking Freemason? You'd think he must be supporting them or Brand would have been "dealt" with by now.

ETA I know her dad is Bernard Gallagher former Ryder Cup captain, but the link about the children's book says he's a senior Freemason.

Edited

I think she was very young when they got together first time around and (I skimmed an article about her) that he was her first love. Then she met him much later by chance having just come out of a bad breakup. So lots of things in that make some sort of sense.

Well yes but coming from a family that is well known unfortunately doesn't offer any protection against falling under the spell of someone controlling

BillieWiper · 21/10/2026 16:09

He has daughters. Not that it's be better if he had sons. 🥺

Like how can he brainwash people so severely when he changes his entire belief system more often than many of us change our sheets?

Tsubasa1 · 21/10/2026 16:29

I have just seen a clip of Russel saying how they need to give respect to people who ‘believe they are victims of a crime’. Laura is just nodding along. Like its all make believe
