I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in the conservatory. Both cats have just been down for breakfast - quite a while after I came down! Girl cat looked at it like I was trying to poison her & has opted for biscuits 🤷‍♀️.

I'll move shortly to soak a couple of pots, put pots away and fold washing. There's not really a lot else to do. I'll do a wash later on, when we get in.

We're off to the cinema this afternoon to watch Hades Town. It's dd2's current thing, played on repeat & sung at the top of her voice. I suggested an overnight somewhere while it's on tour but she was a bit hesitant.

This morning will be mostly crafting & internet browsing for me. I want a Halloween stencil for the window and a crochet pattern for a strawberry pot. Also, I had a thought about making my cauldron light up with led ice cubes or similar, so I'll look for some of those too.

When we get in, we'll have spaghetti & meatballs for tea, early showers, and get sorted for the last four days of half term 🥳. Looking forward to the break!

What about you? 😊

Good afternoon all!
I got up today and had a clean around (although you wouldn’t think it now!). Then me and the kids and my mum went to a market. Bought the kids a load of crap and had a walk around. Back home now and have done a wash and the ironing. DH has hung the wash and put another on. I’ve lay on the sofa with a blanket and now don’t have the energy to move. I had planned a roast chicken dinner for this evening but seriously can’t be bothered moving. No plans for this evening. Baths/showers all round and some t.v.
Hope everyone is enjoying their days!

We woke to find a car had driven through ours and next doors hedge last night, demolishing both completely. We are talking about 20feet of hawthorn 5ft high and at least 30 years old. Bins and rubbish all over the road, oil in the lane, big parts of car scattered far and wide including his number plate! Police visited and have ordered him back today to exchange details for insurance ..so we wait! The car was so badly damaged he had to have it towed. We slept through it all!
Spent the afternoon working alongside men from the council to clear the mess. So a memorable day. We had planned some gardening but this was not exactly what I had in mind! My poor hedge!!!

Hades Town pro shot was excellent. The collective gasp gusped by the auditorium was a thing of beauty, as was the total silence & audibly held breaths that followed it. Dd2's already hoping to go again before it closes it's run at cinemas & I'll be booking local tickets on Friday (payday). Thoroughly enjoyed myself (even though singing along is a no-no & the people next to me were chatting/rustling their way through 2/3 of it).

@DemonsandMosquitoes 😲😲😲!

That's awful!

Crikey @DemonsandMosquitoes that's one heck of a way to spend your Sunday! Has he been back to exchange details yet?

No he didn’t. But our neighbour got his car insurance details and we have contacted them ourselves (as has he now following the police visit) so the wheels of justice are in motion. What a day!

DemonsandMosquitoes · 18/10/2026 20:47

No. But we have found his insurer and reported so the wheels of justice are in motion.
