If you were meeting up with a friend you literally haven’t seen in over 25 years, would you bring a Christmas gift? ( we’re meeting up early December)

We were best friends from around the age of 5 to about 16/ 17. ( Thread title should probably say ‘old’ friend )
We lost touch ( got married, moved away etc )
But through the magic of FB we recently reconnected.
I’m not sure whether to bring a little gift?
I don’t want to embarrass her if she hasn’t got me anything, but equally I don’t want to feel embarrassed if she brings me something and I haven’t.
WWYD?

I would bring a little token something and just keep in my bag. Then if she gets you something - happy days, you can exchange without any awkwardness. If not and you feel it would be awkward to give her the gift, you can just keep it in your bag ☺️

That’s what I’d do.

I would take along any old photos of the two of you together to reminisce over and maybe print one off for her! Then a tiny little token gift, something that she used to love? A bag of her favourite childhood sweets.

Not unless we were meeting at her house.

As others have said not unless she was hosting but maybe a christmas card?
