I’d want my own . As much as I love my friends we are not teenagers so we all want separated rooms .

FillerTrackOnTheAlbumOfLife · Yesterday 19:42

When I did this in my 20s, I don't think we even considered separate rooms.

30 years later, if I were rash enough to consider such a holiday, I would want my own room!

OMGitsnotgood · Yesterday 19:52

I prefer my own for a number of reasons but would expect to pay double if others were sharing

OK I'm going to say, yes I'll be coming but I want my own room and why lol

I don't mind sharing a room but I drew the line at sharing a bed on a recent hen weekend.

Sunbringer · Yesterday 20:20

Depends. With my best friend I want my own room because she snores like a leaf blower.

Jk987 · Yesterday 20:37

I’d sort the snoring out. No one wants that.

I’m sure people would be ok with you having your own room as long as you pay for it

OhBettyCalmDown · Yesterday 20:58

I wouldn’t be going unless I had my own room

Shloopie · Yesterday 20:59

Would depend on which friend I had to share with. Happily share with my best friend but might stump up for a private room otherwise.

Shloopie · Yesterday 21:00

And as you're a snorer I think you're being really considerate by insisting on your own room!

wendywoopywoo222 · Yesterday 21:15

I holiday with freinds and always happy to share but some freinds like their own rooms so we sort beds accordingly.

Lindy2 · Yesterday 21:19

I'd expect to be given a choice before the booking was confirmed. If I was sharing I'd like to know who with and be OK with being with that person. It would absolutely be single beds only.

If I chose not to share I'd expect to be able to book a single room but would pay any additional costs for it.

Swissmeringue · Yesterday 21:23

I'd only go away with people I'm close enough to be comfortable sharing a room with. Tbh we're all 40ish now and could totally afford our own rooms, it's just never really occurred to me to make that switch. Entirely reasonable to want your own room though, my only expectation as such is that preferences about rooms would be discussed in advance and those wanting a single room would be paying proportionately more.

ValleyofHumiliation · Yesterday 21:27

We tend to share - 2 to a room. Would even share a bed if it’s big

DollopOfFun · Yesterday 21:32

I prefer my own room, but sometimes the size/ number of rooms of the holiday let means sharing. It's fine, I've happily shared a room and even a bed with my mates, none of them snore any louder than my husband.

BrilliantBetty · Yesterday 21:34

If it’s a general hotel then no expectation to share if you say you want your own room from the outset and prices can be worked out based on that. However, if it is a hen or something where they’ve booked a big house with X bedrooms and Y number of guests.. it’s different. And partly why I rarely go to Hens.

20s would have expected to share, probably from 30s/mid 30s would expect own room

Same here. I never share now. Say you'll pay what is needed to have your own room and it'll be fine.

bananaboats · Yesterday 22:35

Would always expect to share but if someone wanted their own room obviously wouldnt object but cant say thats ever happened to me personally (im late 30s if relevant!)

whippersnapper55 · Yesterday 22:49

I'm happy to share with my closest friends. Not if it's someone I don't know well.

Aleveldilemma · Yesterday 22:53

I have recently been away for two long weekends to European cities to celebrate friends’ 50ths and we all shared rooms. On the second trip (different friend groups) the person organising had booked rooms of 3, which was a bit much, and one person kept me awake with their snoring so we all agreed we are too old for this now and next time we will have our own rooms (all late 40s or early 50s).

Seagulldancing · Yesterday 22:55

When I was in my 20s we'd put 3 in the bed and 2 on the floor. I delight in my own room now and won't share.

Prefer my own but always share because of cost!

This!
Sharing keeps the cost down.

Autumnalhibernationisthedream · Yesterday 23:03

much cheaper to share- hotel prices are scary nowadays (and I’m in my 40s!)

Pieandchips999 · Yesterday 23:06

When I was younger and girls trips were much more common I'd have been happy to share. Now I'm in my 40s I'd prefer my own space I think. However I also acquired a wife in my 40s so it's not come up yet 🤣 We go away with a ladies circle I'm in. We give people the option to share or not wherever possible. Obviously I share with my wife 🤣
