Welcome to our long running thread for political discussion, general chit chat, a friendly hug and taxes in kind.

Okay, it was a genuine question, but you carry on with your little clique if it makes you feel good.

But honestly, why does it bother you that we like to use other languages on here? It’s just a tradition, that the thread title is in another language.

BIWI · Yesterday 21:20

The answer to the question @Greenlawnbrownlawn is 'just because!' No other reason. It's always a challenge when starting a new thread to think of a new title, so sometimes they use a different language.

Google Translate is your friend Grin

It wasn't a genuine question. You snarked about it on another thread yesterday.

Nice use of French in your post though. Brava.

As others have already explained, it's just a bit of fun. Most titles are in English.

These are long running threads so most us know eachother quite well but I wouldn't call us a little clique, you are welcome to join in.

That's right, now I'm trying to get to the bottom of it, 'cis it's excluding people..

It’s not excluding anyone. You’re here, aren’t you?

Piggywaspushed · Yesterday 21:29

It really isn't. I often don't understand the thread titles and am not excluded one bit.

And do you think the responses to my post are reasonable?

To be fair, elsewhere you said that you would like to ban threads like these.

Not for long. Anti-Badenoch posts to write.

Piggywaspushed · Yesterday 21:32

'Hello. I was just curious why your thread titles are in different languages' would be rather less combative than 'why don't you use English'

Come on. You're spoiling for it.

Yes, they anwered your question.

Au Revoir.

BIWI · Yesterday 21:33

Well, given that you snarked about this (and the other political chat threads) yesterday, it did put a bit of shade on your post on this thread.

That said, the use of foreign languages isn't an attempt to exclude. It's just a bit of humour every now and then.

As we/PP have said, you're very welcome to join in.

Piggywaspushed · Yesterday 21:33

Make sure you don't leave a gap anywhere in her name as a heads up.

Yes, because they are excluding people (in my view). Not the content, necessarily, but the impenetrable titles.

We exclude no-one. We are a broad church and you are very welcome to join us.

Eta: I usually have to use Google to translate our thread titles 😅. I don't feel excluded.
