Reading about this just made me feel so sad and shocked, a GP, mum of 3, ran her own business on the side - killing someone is never the first thing

I wonder what she endured prior to this. And whilst a sleepover was happening? I just cannot imagine the horror for the children involved, losing mum and dad.

RIP Dr Hannah

I wasn't shocked, not these days,or sad, I was angry!

Xannygum · 06/10/2026 20:05

It seems
so horrible to start a thread entitled
as such on chat for what will almost certainly turn in to a speculative chat
At the very least amend the thread title it just seems so disrespectful

wouldyouactuallydothat · 06/10/2026 21:34

Horrendous. Such a terrible story. I hope the children have family to support them.

Abouteffingtime · 06/10/2026 22:14

Just unbelieveable, such a lovely GP, she will be missed by many.

Her poor children, not to mention those sleeling over.

littlbrowndog · 06/10/2026 22:18

Och so awful.

these poor children. And their poor mum

just bloody shocking how many men murder women

SparklyBlueDress · 06/10/2026 22:25

It’s sickening - especially as you’d be surprised if it turned out not to be the husband these days

SmallDFartyCarNRG · 06/10/2026 23:04

So many kind women who give to the community get killed by their useless husbands. Thoroughly depressing to think it was more important to him to do this than think of his kids. All I am hoping is that the law that takes away his parental rights (which atm they keep regardless of the fact they killed their mum) is finally put through before he gets to further control and harm these kids.

Pedant61 · 06/10/2026 23:07

This is a very unpleasant thread and, whilst the husband has been charged we obviously do not yet know whether he is guilty. I hope some of you are never on a jury!

What more do you expect from Daily Mail readers?

Perhaps I am missing something but what is unpleasant about deploring violence against women and stating what a horrible crime it is?

It is after all the police who have charged him, not MN.

Sadly, I assumed the ‘man in his forties’ that they arrested on the night was the husband. Didn’t occur to me that, as children taken somewhere safe’, that there would be any other narrative to this.

Nannyfannybanny · 07/10/2026 18:54

I actually read it in the Sun.

Knitterlybliss · 07/10/2026 19:03

My family knew her well. This thread should be removed. Reported.

Oh come on.

Whilst everyone is innocent until proven guilty, the reality is that the huge majority of murdered women (and I’ll stick my neck out here and include Dr Terry in that sweeping statistic) are killed by their partner.

Im beyond sick of hearing about inadequate men who kill or abuse their wives. I’ll give none of them the benefit of the doubt these days, because experience tells me they don’t deserve it.

Why should it be removed?

HopHopAndHopAgain · 07/10/2026 19:37

Why should it be removed?

I saw the statement from her family and it asked for privacy. I think that is a good enough reason.

Knitterlybliss · 08/10/2026 08:35

HopHopAndHopAgain · 07/10/2026 19:37

Why should it be removed?

Because her family have asked for privacy and her work colleagues have done the same.

Figgywiggywoowoo · 08/10/2026 09:03

I live in the same village. It’s a beautiful village full of lovely people and everyone here is very shocked.

My family live there too and have said the same. Admin have said, in response to my reporting the thread, that as it's in the news, they will not be removing it. I still think they should.

wouldyouactuallydothat · 08/10/2026 11:35

I am afraid I agree with MNHQ and requests for privacy generally means not pestering the family on social media or lifting photos from Facebook (daily mail are terrible for this) unwanted phone calls if the phone number is in the public realm.

It does not mean ‘no one should talk about it’ which is the case here.

What's the actual point in killing them. You end up in prison for a long time. If things aren't working out just move out and move on.

LambriniBobInIsleworthISeesYa · 08/10/2026 12:05

This news story has really shocked me. Poor woman and those poor kids.

Hoppity80 · 09/10/2026 06:28

i would like to talk about this. A gifted, wonderful mother killed it seems by a man.
I wonder how many other women are going through something like this. Why on earth do men who have everything do such terrible things.
